Hey Man!

I'm not trying to make you sound ignorant, so please don't take it that way.

There is no such thing as a universal pattern for speakers. I drilled the holes in the adapters where my Polk Speaker holes are. Every brand of speaker out there will have the holes in different place. So, there is no way to make a universal adapter. I should have posted this fact earlier. If the speakers you have don't line up, then simply take a power drill and drill a small hole.

This is no biggy.

Take care!

yeah i figured i just weren't sure if YOU knew ;D

anyway i was just going to suggest possibly not even drilling the inner speaker holes, since they may interfere with where people need to drill new holes, although like you said its no biggie. (i realize you probably drilled those to test your polks, which i appreciate). most of us nico people probably wont really care though, but if you do decide to sell them, people might get annoyed and think you screwed up. you know how people are. ;D

i did find one of the kappa adapter plates that fits 3 of the holes so i only need to drill one, and luckily there's room. head unit gets here tomorrow, ill put it all in this weekend if i have time

thanks again! you the man.

For anybody that has been trying to get ahold of us, we were gone last week working at a homeless shelter in Chicago, IL.

I'm glad people are enjoying our adapters!

Feel free to email me with any questions, concerns, etc you might have!

Put everything in on Saturday. Rock on. =) Would have added a hell of a pain in the *** if I had to cut those things myself.

For people's future reference: The top screw hole for the factory grill is probably better off removed completely, as the grill still stays on sturdily with 2 screws and the clip. It rests on the speaker rubber otherwise, which can't be good for the speaker.

Underground, I would actually like to buy two of your adapters. This is also for the coupe right? Or is there no difference between coupe and fb?

Also, Yorb, how is the quality? Is the grille an interferance with the size of the speaker?

No difference I am aware of, and the grill does not interfere at all.

Take care!

If you need a pair of the adapters, you can send us Paypal, and I can get them sent out tomorrow!

The grill itself doesn't interfere, the door does. As I think I mentioned before though, you may want to do as I did and get yourself a jigsaw and cut away some of the top part of the opening in the door. Invisible once it's all together, and the only structural sacrifice you make is one of the screws to hold the grill on. Since there are still 2 screws and a metal clip though, it's not going to make a difference unless you routinely flail around in steel-toed boots or something.

I'll take a couple more pictures when I get a chance, unfortunately I have the chicken pox right now (I know, I know. It sucks).

Ok, so it's $40 shipped, that's cool. But I won't know if I'm going to buy any until I know how good they sound, and what speakers I'm getting. Most likely Infinity Kappa 63.5i's. They have a 2 3/16" mounting depth, would they work?

Yes I think that's fine mounting depth. I have Kappa 60.5cs's, and I think it's the same depth. I don't know about "sound." They're pieces of wood. They don't make sounds. ;D They don't rattle, if that's what you mean.

I don't think your would have trouble mounting 95% of speakers on the market. There is plenty of room.

In terms of sound? I assume you mean rattle and you won't have that.

You can make a check/money order/ or Paypal to us and we'll get them out to you!

Take care!

I know that, but I was wondering if I write it out to him, since he's doing them on his own. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm not one to jump into anything without knowing what I'm jumping into thoroughly.

It's amazing what we'll shell out $40 for, really. ;D Couple pieces of cheap wood hacked to a template and spray-painted.

Seems more reasonable though when you consider the effort that goes into getting the template drawn up and then the tedious jigsawing. He also threw in a couple packs of new screws with mine, though I didn't end up needing any of them. Plus there's included shipping...decent package deal.

Yeah, $40 I think is really cheap actually. When you add up the cost of buying the jigsaw, boards, screws, drill bits, other material, etc. It would cost way more than $40.

I hope you guys are extremely happy with the adapters. Kenny and I have had a good time making these, all of our customers look so confused when they see us doing wood work in the garage, lol!

Take care!

Yeah, I put a note in the letter to let you know what it was for and all. Hah, a random-*** $40 in the mail would be nice, but confusing.

Underground, not alot of communication, could be my fault. But have you shipped those adapters yet?
