Fitness thread anyone?

A General Discussion forum for cars and other topics, and a great place to introduce yourself if you are new to NICO!

Hey guys and girls, I was looking around NICO and I really couldn't find any sort of fitness thread, if there is one please be nice guys and don't rip me apart- I tried the all knowing search bar.

I thought it would be cool to have a thread with 12 week goals, in which anyone interested could post the "specs" of their bodies, state their 12 week goals, and be on there way.

If your like me, you get discouraged when you don't see results NOW, and maybe just lose your motivation. This could be a good thread for giving each other anything from that needed little motivation, to that kick in the a** some of us may need to get off the couch and get active.

Rules are simple: 1: Take a dated picture of yourself as your "before" picture 2: Add a picture and your new measurements every week 3: Take your final picture and the end of the 12 weeks and post your final measurements!

No cheating though, if you're trying to lose weight, you better not take your before picture in a winter coat, and your ending picture in a tshirt

Share workouts, ideas, methods, supplements, etc and get fit!

I'm interested, I currently go to the gym a lot, I'm not putting on weight at all (high metabolism) but I'm getting stronger, so I can't guarantee sweet progress photos.

I'll participate as long as I don't have to post pics. I'll disclose the progress in full, I just really don't want to share my abs with the world right now.

Thanks to my thyroid almost shutting down on me, I gained some weight I would really like to get rid of. I'm on some meds that are getting my thyroid back to normal but it is up to me to lose the weight.

If my stipulation is OK, I'll join the 'fun'. It would help to have some motivation before swimsuit season kicks in.

Great! Im glad im seeing interest and only a couple hours after I posted!

Dtsn280zx: I hear you on the high metabolism man, im 6'2" and 150lbs, but i can eat a large pizza for a snack and not gain a pound, its pretty frustrating!

nissangirl74: Of course you dont HAVE to post pics if you dont want, I for one will be doing the good ol' black box over the face deal, its really up to what your comfortable with, but nobody is on here to judge you, ESPECIALLY because you have a medical issue. I made this thread to SUPPORT each other in our physical goals.

I'll will be posting my pics/stats on Monday night ( 2/8/2010 ) and use that as my personal 12 week starting point. Anybody thats interested at the time can join me and we can kinda work together on it.

I will also be making a list on the OP of those participating just to keep track of where everyone is at in case this thread really takes off and we get a lot of people. (hoping)

Sign me up! I had a thread about lifting a little while ago and since then I've been working really hard. I've gained 10lbs in the past month and weigh 175 now. My goal is to be 200 by the time I get out for summer break around early May. In a month my bench has gone up from 85 to 135. I'm pretty happy so far but I haven't really seen a difference yet, what I've noticed is that your muscles will get harder before they start to grow in size if you have never lifted before.

I'm 6'1" 130lbs and can do the same, but i do have a body fat % of 6%

for those who have seen me/my pics probably think uh what does this retard need to workout for lol but i have a little tummy and my thighs/calves could use some good tonage by the spring/summer so this is a cool interesting way to do it. i'm 5'7 and 118 lbs....i guess my goal is to go back down to 110 where I used to be (I eat a lot of junk food and definitely an impulsive eater/i never stop when im full, especially when it tastes soo good haha.)

5' 10 173 lbs this morning... probably a lot more than that after the superbowl party I just attended... ugh, I'm so damn full, but the ribs were soooo good.

Looking to get fit, so it'll be adding muscle mass and getting rid of fat... I'm not going for a meat head look by any means though. I'd like to get down to 160-165 or so, and flatten out my stomach.

I'm 5'7" 128 pounds. I don't care if I don't lose a single pound if I could convert it all back to muscle. A specific number has never been an issue for me. I weighed 110 before my thyroid took a s***. I don't have to get back down to that, I just want to look hot in my jeans again. I definitely don't want to get below 110 pounds. You have to weigh at least that in order to donate blood and i make sure I do that whenever I can.

So, how specific are we being? Do you want us to post up our workouts, our diets, or just our progress?

I am trying to get up to 215lbs while maintaining a low body fat percentage. It is going to be a long process. I am getting a FREE bench press though!

You and Stace make me feel like a heffer!

I haven't weighed myself in a while. Never pay attention to those things, but I imagine being around anywhere between 120-130. I'm 5'4 - 5'5?
