I too have decided to step up my game. We have been going to the gym but I haven't been as aggressive with it as i should. I do a lot of cardio but not much else. Therefore, my heart is in great shape but my waistline, not so much. Starting next week, I will be working with a trainer to get my a** back in shape. I normally wouldn't do that but our gym sent out a free month's worth of personal training so I thought it'd be stupid not to take advantage of it.

I will also be changing up my morning routine. I love coffee with a lot of bad-for-you-s*** in it. That will be cut down to a cup of black coffee with one pack of Splenda and that's it. Other than that, water with lemon. Also, my breakfast muffin is going bye-bye. Yogurt and granola will substitute. Turkey sandwiches with fruit for lunch and a sensible dinner. I love to cook so it's not always easy for me to stay away from cooking what I love. I'll just have to be disciplined to (1) practic portion control, (2)run that extra mile or do "X" more crunches in order to work off what I splurged for, or (3) just eat a salad instead.

It's not going to be easy because I do love to eat and I love to eat things that are high in calories. I just have to accept the fact that I am not 18 years old anymore with the metabolism of a rat on crack. I have to sack up, for lack of a better term, and do the work. I want to look nice and it's gonna take a lot more effort than it used to. However, it could always be worse. I'm at 130lbs trying to lose 10. I could be at 300lbs trying to lose 100.

Good luck Michele!!!! :mike If I get brave enough tonight, I'll write down my measurements and post them up. I'd like to see how much I can improve as well.

go 'chele!

I've given up... I've decided to just be skinny.... its easier than building more muscle and I have enough of it for what I do these days.

I helped start the rowing team on campus and we work out 4 days a week. Monday and Friday mornings are ~40 minutes on the ergs then a 25 minute run or 20 minutes of circuits - push ups, squats while lifting weights, jumping jacks, lunges, bridges, planks (these are a b****), and other stuff I can't remember. Then 3 times a week we actually go out and row. It's been awesome, I've put on quite a bit of muscle and we've only been at it for 1.5 months!
