Its GL-4 you use. GL-5 breaks down the brass components in your tranny

i think #1 is the neutral switch and #2 is the O.D. sensor. I dont need these right. and if so how can i plug them up. so i dont have to waste money on gettin the sensors and not using them

Drop the tranny crossmember and put a jack under it so you don't tear your motor mounts and smash the firewall, then you should have enough room to get an extension and a flex joint up the tranny tunnel to pull that last bolt out.

I tried a bit to get it behind the egr pipe with no luck, then a friend that was helping me showed me the trick of dropping the mount.

Also, the best way to get the tranny back on is by sticking a block of wood under the crank and jacking the front of the engine up then sliding the transmission right onto the engine. None of this get it started then rotate it up bull****, just get a friend to help line it up and giv'r ****.

I got my whole swap done in a day with 2-4 guys helping me at different times, and we took lots of beer breaks and dicked around quite a bit.

Get your swap done!

Damn Devin your car is coming out clean, I can tell by your neatness of the whole project your future holds many clean cars! Think im gonna pull out the essar pretty soon to spray the engine bay, you inspired me! Hit me up on the space if you need any help, I did a auto to manual when I did my RB swap on my old s13, so I know the ins outs of it!

haha thanks man, yeah i was thinking about painting my engine bay while the engine is out, but i don't have enough money so i guess i'll do that down the road.. i took my head to the machine shop to get re-ground, and i guess there was a **** load of stuff wrong with it so it went from costing $100 to $270!

ahh yeah pull that sr and paint that ****!, how did you like that rb?

Yea the 5 spd swap really isnt that hard if you have some help getting out the Auto tranny and putting the Manual one in. I did mine in one full day ok well maybe 1 1/2 2 days

if you put your mind to it and you have good tools. hand tools work fine. i did mine in about 6-7 hours. it was cake. i can take out and put back in my manual tranny in about 3 hours by my self. such an easy swap

hahahaha lucky that i just went through the same problem. You can tryand get a bolt that would fit. Im guessing m14 x 1.5 but thats just a guess maybe its m12.
Or you can use universal drain plugs. You can purchase them from autozone, pepboys, basically anywhere. When you put it in you have to twist it for the rubber to expand. But b4 you do make sure that you can still shift easily (you dont want it in to far or you will risk breaking sumtin ie tranny. So once you make sure nothing is hitting wen you shift your good to go.
I just did that in my car. And i've been driving it for a week now and not a single leak.

Good luck

Sensors should be there, but someone removed them. Those holes are threaded, right? I'd go to hardware store, find the bolts that fit there, cut with Dremel, apply some liquid gasket and install. That'll do the trick.

What did you do with the breather hose did you plug it also?

Do you think the Auto Transmission drain plug will work also?

haha yea now you know wut "jump" is
lol

anyway the automatic drain plug will not work. Or at least im pretty sure. The universal drain plug for the engine oil is good to use. The rubber expands and creates a seal

Nice to see you're still working on yours too. Any thought given to adding the safety cutout switch to the clutch pedal and wiring it in line with that "JUMP"? You can resurrect the need to press the clutch on start. I think thats how I'm going to do mine.

Hey does that green box exist in the 96 s14? I dont recall seeing one.

use a wrench haha. Umm idk mine i basically just twisted off with my fingers. But wut u can try is to bolt the slave onto the tranny and since it is secure and wont move then unscrew the soft line
