well,well,well... i managed to get the sucker out!! i dropped the steering column completely, and pulled the brake booster as far out as i could... broke a coulple of the white brackets but oh well.. check it out

also i noticed the automatic brake pedal had two plugs... i know the blue one is for the brake light.. what is the other one for? my manual brake pedal didn't come with one.. do i need this plug? or can i live without it?

looking good...i am not looking forward to that part of my swap. the second sensor on the brake pedal is for the cruise control. without it, your cruise will not work. on another note, what paint and color did you use on the pedal brackets? was it straight up silver or something special?

Good job, okinawa. You are getting close. Spray some wd-40 and pull ot out as you pressed the retainer clip. One is brake light switch and the other one is circuit breaker for the cruise control. When you are on cruise control, it turns off if you hit the break pedal.

"""""Don't worry about the dust cover until trans is in, there is always a little slack in driveshaft so it may turn out to be correct. Also I put in a s13 trans into my s14 recently, I had the same identical dust cover,,they changed across some years. I had to pull it off and install my s14 dust cover.""""

I'm swapping my s14's transmission this weekend but, I'm missing the dust cover, how bad would it be if I just don't get the piece? Can I tweak my automatic one to get some protection?

Thanks!!!

True, but it depends on how much slack you have. Car flexes a little bit, so you should have enough slack to clear it.

Yes, I modified s14 dust cover to use with 1 piece aluminum driveshaft. I cut and welded a stainless steel container to it.

Oops!!! Sorry. Yeah, that thing is called dust cover or adaptor plate. You should install it otherwise your clutch might slip. I've seen a couple of people regreting it after they left it out. s13 dust cover is out of production, but s14 one is still available and will fit. You can buy one on eBay too.

Dont Take That Bracket Out Or You Will Have The Clutch Pedal All The WAY down to the floor use those as guides and the measure the boot where the rod come out and use a hole saw that size....make sure you mark and center punch the center or you will run into problems for bolting up.... happy wrenching

Hey guys,

I have s13 engine+transmission, earl ss soft clutch line, nabco master+slave cylinder, manual crossmember, engine/transmission mounts, even got shiftboot

I am just missing a non abs s13 manual driveshaft, hard line, and clutch/brake pedals...

Hard line can be fabricated... so its not THAT much of an issue but id prefer getting it... and well manual driveshaft... is there any real difference between the abs and non abs ones... my car is non abs.... and last but not least i saw some sale on that courtesparts nissan site that u linked to mentioning clutch pedal... but is it the WHOLE package EVERYTHING thats needed or?...

And is it necessary to get brake pedal assembly from manual? What's the difference?

So again

-Hard line-Driveshaft from non abs manual s13-Clutch and brake pedal assembly

Cut your break pedal in half and do not waste money on putting in another one that is going to do the same thing.

Personally,I'd get it resurfaced. You've got it apart anyway and the new clutch plate will have a longer life and grip better with a flat plate. They develop hot spots even though they look flat. It's the same as a brake rotor...

if you are broke like most of us.. well at least me you can take some sand paper maybe 220 grit and just sand it a lil bit... it wont be perfect and i dont recommend this every time. also check for discoloration and dips and cracks. if you have any of those then get it resurfaced.

Water pump and thermostat are easy changes with it in the car. So those could probably wait a bit if nothing shows any sign of leaking yet and it wasn't overheating before. Rear main seal should be a definite "must do" while it's out. And check any rear freeze plugs.....

Oops! Sorry. I didn't see it carefully. Anyway, buy s14 one from a dealership. It'll work on s13 & s14.

No, it's just a pedal. Whole assembly is over $100. Try to get OEM hardline because you can't beat OEM hardline fitment. Make sure to get a bracket that goes between softline and hardline. You can buy Agency power stainless steel line, but I don't think the feel is as good as OEM hardline.
