Ok guys and gals, My friend Jarretts G-pa introduced us to the fact that this Peel & Seal roof flashing is the same material and almost as thick as dynomat. It is $15 for a 25' roll. It took two and a half rolls to do the whole trunk and hatch.

I got rid of some rust beforehand and covered it with rustoliam.

I just figured I would share this. You can pick this stuff up at your local Lowe's and I am sure Home Depot carry's it as well...

Its very effective I still have no hatch interior in due to a leak and my exhaust is now just as quiet as my friends kouki with full interior and a tanabe medallion, and I have a ebay canister. It improved the sound of my stereo greatly and made my truck sound solid when I close it.

Zach I finished up doing the whole trunk and doors in the kouki. The road noise has dropped dramatically, but I still need to do something about all the engine noise.

Looks like maybe this weekend we need to do our fire wall and maybe under the seats.

I'm not sure how to go about doing the firewall. More than likely we would have to remove the dash.

sounds good. I just ordered a bulk pack of dynamat extreme. I get a discount on it since I work at bestbuy so I paid like 90 bucks. I plan on doing the whole cabin and trunk with the extreme and MAYBE put i layer of dynaliner in a few places. I figured I'm going to need atleast 3 bulk packs to do the cabin and trunk, but I might get some of this and try it out

Nice find man, looks good, how is the adhesive side of the deadening? Does it stick well, do you think it might lift over time. Thanks

It will def. last a lifetime. I used a heat gun on mine to get it a bit tacky. Weight wise it is a little less being as its not as thick. I purchased 2 sheets of Stinger "knock-off Dynamat" and I think it out preforms, sticks, and knocks alot more sound out better.

It doesn't weigh much at all. I can weigh it tonight at work and let you know exactly how much one roll weighs.

It adheres very well. Just like jarrett said, he heated his up to make it stick even more.

There's a guy who restores VW bugs on youtube who uses this exact same stuff, says it works great and costs way less. I had been thinking about trying it too.

I am glad that I could help some people save some cash flow... Be warned once you start its hard to stop. Tomorrow I will be doing the walls of the back seat and my doors. Im pretty pumped. It just makes so much of a difference in the trunk were there is factory sound deadening, I cant wait to see what it will do for the doors where there is absolutely nothing.

lol I saw that stuff a few years back... I wondered if it was even comparable but never got into sound deadening the 240... however having a t3 spooling in your ear will change that lol. I may throw some under my floor board, My exhaust gets kinda hot.

Awsome, this is good stuff. Ive been planning on doing my trunk for a while now becuase of my exhuast. I was planning on buying this 3 x 5 roll of insulation/sound deadening materail from NAPA that I spot in the corner of the store every time I go there. Its 25 dollars a roll but its not self Adhesive...

All you need is a heat gun, back of a screw driver, and a box cutter. When it comes to the inside of the doors you really NEED a heat gun (hair dyer should work) because the stuff did not want to stick on its own, but did very well once heated.

Ok so I started with the inside of the doors...

Heat guned it to promote adhesion...

Then I started on the ouside of the door, covering as many holes as possible....

Finnished left door..

Finished right door..This made a HUGE difference in road noise and even more so in the sound of my stereo.

Then I moved to the back seat. There is a huge hole back there on each side that causes so much road noise...First I layed the sound deadening....

Then I stuffed the hole with pillow stuffing...Which is $4.98 at walmart....

This made an AMAZING difference. The car sounds so solid when I close the doors now. When all was said and done my fiancee called me as I was saying goodbye to my friend Jarrett who helped me through all of this, My phone was inside the car and we were outside, her ring tone is The Devil Wears Prada- Still Fly and I could not hear it at all as we stood next to the car. Success tastes sweet.... o so sweet.

Nice. Did you have any trouble putting the door panels back on? I also have a question about that flashing. Is there and actual insulation on that? it looks thick, but is that just adhesive and reflective reflection part all it consists of???

Do these have an odor to them? I've heard about how certain types has a bad odor to them.
