I saw the sweetest 60's Camaro yesterday with an LS7, custom exhaust, the whole nine. It was sick!

Good morning, and here it is!

The rear subframe is a little more assembled. I need an impact wrench to put on the axle nuts and lug studs; that should be happening tonight.

Image

Clutch... Pressure plate... And the whole f***in' transmission!

Another shot of the engine...

Image

I had to slightly trim the left motor mount so it would fit next to the oil filter adapter neck. Then I installed it.

Image

I put all of the coil packs in - mainly so nothing gets down in those channels.

Image
Image

The starter retaining bolt wouldn't go in, so I threaded a nut on, cut a slit in a bolt, threaded the nut back off, and cleaned the dirty threads out; it worked like magic! Then I installed it.

Tensioner cover and water pump pulley installed:

Image

I had to cut notches in the engine subframe to clear the exhaust.

ENGINE GOING IN!!!!!!!! (and an interesting picture of me :naughty: )

Image

I installed the exhaust headers after the motor was in because I was afraid the extra weight would cause me some problems dropping the engine in. I was probably right, but the headers were a b**** to install after the fact. But I got em'! Here she is in place. The steering linkage is hooked up (forgot it and had to lower the engine back down to fit it together). On a side note: I had to removed the starter from the transmission in order for the exhaust header to fit... Mazworx fail?

I am pretty confident the hood will not close over this monster, so that will be an issue for me in the near future. The oil pan is sitting less than a half inch above he rack and pinion. The engine is all the way back in the engine bay... dilemma dilemma!

More tonight.

I haven't seen a VH with a stock hood on any mounts as yet. But it means you have some pretty cool options for hood vents you can play with.

Oil pan is still above it so that means you don't have clearance issues which is good right?

P.s: Looking sweet. Can't wait to hear this thing Roar!!!

Clearance is actually very nice.. I'll throw a picture of that in tonight. The sump in the oil pan still sticks out underneath though. I don't suspect it being a problem.

I know I keep geting these updates in late, but it's all the time I've got.

The first two pictures are of the front lower control arm bushing. I hadn't planned on reusing it, so i actually hammered it out. Now that i need it in order to move the car, I had to grind away the top to get the nut to thread on, worked great.

The rest are pretty self explanatory... new tie rod ends, crackle painted coil covers, front suspension installed, radiator boots, radiator tubing, shifter, etc.

I'm about to disappear to Ft. Drum for two weeks. This means no more updates until I get back. I will still log on and participate in the forum though.

Tubs! Tubs! Tubs!

You should totally tub the front end, it would be rad. You might be doing this, but all I'm capable of is looking at the most recently posted pictures and responding accordingly.

I'll trade you. You come do corporal's leadership course, and I'll go sit in the tent... ;)

It's not nearly as fun as it seems. 2 weeks in the woods with no showers, 2 two-hour guard duties daily. It's a heat cat. 5. The tents are 7' x 3' x 2.5'. BORING! I wish I was at your leadership course... Actually, I wish I was working on that car.
