I live across the street from a Fire Station, and down the street from an emergency dispatch center.

Haven't seen a fat one yet. Then again those hard working people (as I call them here in wildfire land) are out finishing up 3 mile runs when I'm still in my jammies.

They make some AWESOME chili for the Cajun Festival

HAHAHAHAHAHHA! That's f***ing making me roll on the floor seeing as I've taken classes on this. The first firemen were Irish immigrants. FORCED to work on the FD. That's why the FD has always been predominately Irish and Catholic. They were paid by insurance companies to salvage as much of a home they could so that the insurance company wouldn't have to pay the owner of the home as much money.

No. Sometimes you just need to quit running your f***ing mouth, talking about s*** you know absolutely nothing about, and go sit in your corner and play with the dirt.

Please provide source on that one as I'd be interested to read on that aspect of history. I am unable to find anything about that.

Don't have the fire book anymore for that class, but that's how it was. No one else would give the Irish jobs. FD was their only option for a long time. Talk to any firefighter. Most all of them know the history behind the Irish and the FD. Again, there is a reason why Irish men are always associated with Fire.

I personally like to have multiple sources. Can you help me find that info on the internet.

As you can tell i'm not the type to take info at face value. I like to cross reference

Also, I saw that alot of irish people became firemen, but looking through irish history I didn't find much on discrimination that forced them into firefighting

Oh yea. The Irish were NEVER discriminated against. I don't have a link for you. I got it from my professor and a textbook. And personally, I trust a book more than I do some dips*** spewing whatever it is he pleases all over the internet.

And honestly, I'm done with this thread. The only reason I chimed in was because you were being an ignorant f*** and needed to be taught a God damn lesson. Now that I have have pwnd your a**, I'm out.

And in the end, I really don't give a f*** if you have changed your views on whether or not firemen are heroes or not. If you still have your same arrogant views, fine. I just hope you learn the hard way that they are all heroes, by having your sorry a** dragged out of a God damn building by one of those "waste's of taxpayers money".
