JESTER wrote:Oh I dont think so. Read the thread title. Valid point??? He is pissed because the traffic light changed for the pizza man, and he had to wait a minute. That is nothing more than a spoiled brat!
So I'm a spoiled brat ehh? Do I ask for anything, from anyone? Hell no. Do I get what I ask for? Hell no. Do I work towards getting what I want? Hell yes. If that makes me a spoiled brat, then I'm a spoiled brat.
JESTER wrote: He should have left the house five minutes earlier, if these accidental traffic light changes upset his schedule.
Yeah, that wasn't possible. I was wrapping up a job that I was doing for my friend. And they weree actually paying me for it. So no, I couldn't have left 5 minutes earlier.

Anyway... Damn.. Everybody is jumping on the bandwagon. I got like 5 or 6 times already.

And it's weird because AltiMan would usually pwn me, but this time he kind of stood up for me.. Thanks

As for all of your responses. Yeah, I do consider the Firemen that actually do do heroic stuff to be heroes, but There are those firemen that don't do much at all. And they are still considered Heroes.

Well if you do not think they are heros I hope you never need a fireman. In a fair world you would burn to a crisp and they don't have to run into a burning falling building just to save someone they do not know...

PoorManQ45 wrote:I know this may upset most people, but please tell me what the firemen did on 9/11/01 that makes them heros? I know that they were "willing" to risk their own lives to try to save others, but that's their job.

I will call a single fireman a hero when I see them do something truely heroic, but to make broad sweeping generalizations that all firemen are heros is just plain insane
You must not understand something . Yeah its their jobs, but they chose to do that. that makes them heroes. their job is rescuing people, doesn't get more heroic than that

That one pissed me off. Mustang won. Even though if you look at their numbers, everything about the goat is superior. EVERYTHING. The mustang sucks, and it still won. I don't get it.

I mostly agree, MoD. Although the Mustang is more affordable. Its also more "authentic American" in the sense that the GTO is a world car, sold as a Vauhall and a Holden.

I guess its a question of whether you want a cruiser or a bruiser. The GTO will cost you more, but you get a more liveable daily driver and cross-country coupe for it.

The next GTO, however, wont even compare.

Can someone tell me, Why do firemen work 24hr on 24hr off shifts. Or 7days on, 7 days off? Why don't they just work a standard 8 hour day? And if they're in the middle of a call, they just stay and get paid overtime if they go past the 40hr a week limit.

The reason I ask is because my Uncle is Assigned to work 24hrs on, 24hrs off. That means that he works an average of 2 to 3 days a week. 24+24+24 = 72. So he works 32hrs over the standard 40hrs a week. And, by federal regulation, he gets paid 32hrs of overtime. I don't understand that. How can you get paid overtime when you are just working your scheduled shift? And I have talked to my uncle about this, and yes he does get the overtime of which I speak.

AZhitman wrote:You know about as much about firefighters as you do about law enforcement officers.

Most people who couldn't possibly pass the requirements to become either are hyper-critical of them.

Why don't you go call one of them overweight wastes of taxpayer money IN PERSON?

You won't, because even the most out-of-shape fireman could snatch your spoiled, spoon-fed, petulant a$$ through a knothole.

What a freakin' crybaby. Shut up.
I'm late posting, but I just found this thread and thought I'd throw my .02 cents in. Judging from PMQ's posts on this and other threads, he seems like a very ungrateful, and angry individual. I haven't seen two posts from him that were positive about anything. Maybe his parents didn't spank him as a child... Or maybe they still don't I dunno.

No offense PMQ just something I've noticed...

No offence taken. I'm actually a very "happy" and gratefl person. It's just that some things really get me ticked off. Most people usually have certain things that really get the ticked off.

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, I'll try to be a little more nice and grateful in my posts.

Most sane people would say that is a good thing.

If we didn't have the need for firemen then obviously no one would ever have to deal with the pain of losing their home, business, or possibly family members.

Most Policemen I see are doing "nothing" ... and I'm glad.
