wow, thats dirt cheap for tires that u say are so good, my stepfather paid $11oo for 4 micheline pilot sports (225/5o/r17) for his o2 maxima, this included mounting, balancing, and allignment and such, but i still think he paid too much

I had about the same damage this past winter. It was about $1500 to repair. I was only going like 5mph down a snow covered hill at my apartment complex. Wasn't trying to get sideways and the rear end slid out. I think b/c I let off the gas(darn engine braking) I went sideways for about 50 feet and hit a parked dakota. OOPs. No one hurt, just my feelings. I bought snow tires and they helped ALOT. hope your car is fixed soon.jeff

Yeah... I know... when the dealer quoted me the price I thought there was a mistake. They are 215/50/r15 and they have excellent reviews in every source I found. There is simply no other directional, 50 series tire with this much grip fo the money. Kumho is a pretty respectable name in performance tires.. and with the number of tires I go through... I can buy twice as many for the price I was paying for Goodyears.

The only possible drawback I could come up with is the lateral traction. They are still FAR better than any typical street tire that I've used, but they dont hold the corner quite as well as the goodyear eagles. The difference is nothing that any weekend auto-crosser would notice... but I know my limits because I push them far too often.

In a nut shell... from my experience, for less than $70 a tire... you can not buy better performance.

this is awesome mr.fox! you said yaw! bravo!

Quote »um...the guy told me that i should take it to a body shop to get my frame pulled.... he said cambers are messed up BAD!!! so..??!![/quote]

frame shop? bah! tell him the only framin' they'll be is the BF-- Goodrich R34 poster for your room. if you messed up your camber, then have it aligned. a hit like yours won't incur any frame damage.

fwd is overrated

rwd cars with GOOD snow tires (not some crappy ones) can equally move around. remember, at one point in time *all* cars were rwd. and there's a point when there's so much snow you might as well not drive anything at all--to be safe.

unless you've got a sweet, big-a$$ 4X4 as a backup plan!!! Living in new england with a sports car daily driver... you need something in the 4wd catagory to get around in the slop!

Mmmmm.... wrx.....

I think I need to convince my boss to give me a raise so I can afford the payments!

Although.... they're so nice I think I'd park the 240 and the truck and just drive the Suby all the time. :D

true, but around here we tend to get a lot of ice under the snow, not that either setup makes a big difference then, and my T-Bird is a pain to launch, like when on a steep hill......

I need a heated bobcat for winter....

edit: this was also my first winter in a RWD car
