The board has been a little slow lately so I figured I would post some stuff up of what I've done this winter in hopes of generating conversation.
Wiring (clean-up in aisle 25)First things first, when I completed my swap and got it running after the rebuild, I didn't care what things looked like as long as it ran and functioned. With that being said, I couldn't stand the way my wiring was run for my e-fans, which were ON all the time, nor could I stand how the stock harness was 3 ft too long for the S-chassis. So one of my goals was to clean up the wiring mess and get it under control to make it less noticeable. Ideally, I would have cut and soldered every connection together, but instead I just folded the harness over on itself to save hours of soldering fun.
Before
During
After (still not quite finished, but closer)
After the main harness wiring was tackled, I added a DiF fan controller and rewired my fans. To achieve the ultimate "baller" status, I went ahead and wired the car for A/C to work and for the fans to kick on when the A/C kicks on. Thanks to 300Plus for helping me through that. Now I can get the gf to ride with me this summer!
Exhaust ManifoldAs you all know, my horsepower goals are high now that I have the motor built. So, I had to upgrade the turbo and didn't want to half-a$$ it so I sized up a T04Z and realized that a new exhaust manifold would be required. The 6Boost manifold was just being considered by US RBers so it was perfect timing. With much delay through customs due to a shipping company F*** UP, the manifold finally arrived. Honestly, it is beautiful. The welds are perfect and the collector welding is as clean as I've ever seen. At this point in the project, I was waiting to get my 44mm Tial WG to see how it fit before getting things welded onto it and ceramic coating it.
However, one place that it does not fit is the oil return line from the front of the head. I will be replacing that line with a SS -10AN line anyways, so no biggy.
T04ZAs I said before, I decided on a T04Z since the flow/pressure points in my calcs run right down the middle of the compressor efficiency chart.
Intake ManifoldOn the intake side of the motor, I bought a Greddy Intake Manifold and ordered 650cc injectors from Deatschwerks. My power is limited by my SupraTT fuel pump which can only pump 650cc/min per injector at the boost I want to run. When I need more fuel than that, I will have to upgrade the entire system. That is next year's project since I'm running out of funds this year. I am testing out the new Gizzmo phenolic intake manifold gasket so hopefully it will provide some insulation from the heat of the head. OH! and I rewired the injector harness to tuck the wires below the manifold.
IntercoolerHad to do some cutting to get this big boy to fit. It is about 24x12x4 and has 3-inch piping associated with it. Thanks Scott! This thing is BAD! Got it mounted up and decided to buy a new Origin Stylish bumper instead of cutting up my stocker to force fit it. (Someone please buy my OEM bumper) I'm waiting on couplers and other stuff to line piping up. This part of the project is still in the works, so no major progress yet.
Power SteeringThis was my second favorite part of this winter besides the exhaust manifold because I have hated the S14 power steering line since I first made the swap. It was always catching on the radiator and condenser every time I tried to remove either. Caused me to scratch things, struggle unnecessarily, and generally PISS me off! So I gave it the axe and yanked it out. Good riddance you bastard. I haven't 100% finished it yet, but I'm waiting on a PS fitting and than it will be done real quick.

GaugesI decided to add an oil pressure and oil temperature gauge with sandwich adapter to more closely monitor temperature. The PFC hand controller displays coolant temp so I didn't feel that another water temp gauge was necessary. So I invested in some Defi Blue Racer gauges because I didn't want to shell out for the Link unit and more expensive gauges even though they look cooler IMO. Honestly, who doesn't buy gauges for the looks of them? I haven't put a lot of time into wiring these up so I just slapped them in the pod and set them where they will be mounted.
Gauge Pics(pics coming soon) Haven't uploaded them yet. Later tonight probably.
