I tried weather stripping all the gaps, but it only helped a little bit. I have the exact same setup as 300plus minus the fans and he is running A/C without overheating. So, I am upgrading and bought the Flex-A-Lite 240 pusher fan unit. It is a duplex shrouded 12" pusher fan assembly with straight blades. The FAL 440 was exactly the same except used s-blades and cost $100 more than the 240.

AND After doing some research, it appears that Perma-cool fans are major P's of S and don't flow nearly as much air as they are rated for.

FAL is a solid choice. When they turn on you definitely know they're on SPAL is supposedly even better but more expensive. Keep an eye on your connections with the FAL fans. They pull so many amps that spade connectors and such can melt at their weakest points.

The FALs work well but I think I'll be looking to swap them out in the near future. I've already blown one of the fan motors. It just gave up the ghost one day for no apparent reason. Good thing is, you can pick up a replacement motor from Summit or Jegs for 75 to 80 dollars.

haha I'm too busy driving it! jk See here:

I'll try to throw something together when I'm hungover on Sunday. (Wedding) Things have been going very well so far at 18 psi. The turbo is laggy as hell but when boost hits, the tires break loose thru 3rd. That's on some abused 265s. I just need everything to hold together thru the 20/30 road rally weekend towards the end of September.

Honestly, I haven't even taken pictures of it outside of my garage yet. Pathetic, I know.

I just looked at this and realized that I have a ton of stuff that I haven't shown in this thread. I've posted some of these in other threads since, but this will be a comprehensive winter build thread that extended well into the spring of '08. Things never go as planned and money never comes in fast enough to satisfy the habit.

One of the first things I did was reposition my engine mounts since my initial drilling for the top hat mounts didn't line the mounts up perfectly and was stressing the already crappy rubber isolators.

Then, I tried to take the slop out of the stock transmission isolator which was a large part of my driveshaft breaking back in the day. I think the engine was torquing so violently that it was causing the driveshaft angle to change.

Here's a pic of before I filled the rear transmission mount with Flexane94. I don't have an after pic because I was too anxious to reinstall it and forgot. Afterthought: I wish I had solid mounts like McKinney or Syko...

To keep under-hood temps down, I had my 6boost manifold, turbo housing, down pipe and dump pipe all ceramic coated. They grey shiny coating is called something like Cermashine??

Went with the Greddy Type R BOV and recirc'd it with silicone hose. I originally had the stiff spring, but was getting some compressor surge so I switched the spring out to the standard and it "choofs" less. You can also see my ghetto catch can placement. Hey, it is semi-functional.

Running the front mount from Scott Buwalda's RB26 required the battery to be relocated to the trunk. Got this off of ebay for $75 or so. High quality.

To avoid cutting apart a perfectly good OEM front bumper I went with an Origin Stylish FRP front bumper. The paint is slightly lighter than the rest of the car, but it is hard to notice unless you're as anal as me.

I couldn't pass up some 6000k XID lights for $100, so I added those too.

After everything was in order and I got the injector o-ring situation figured out, the car still ran hot and I couldn't drive it if the ambient temp was above 85 or so. So I struggled with deciding on a fan that would allow me to keep my A/C condenser. 12-inch SPAL pushers and a DiF fan controller were the answer. Sweet! They draw a ton of amps though.

Since the fans draw like 30A when they're both on, my voltage was dropping to about 13.4V with the RB25 alternator. So I had to install a Quest alternator to remedy the situation. Biggest unforseen PITA project.

1) Grind flat spot on spacer to clear fatter alternator housing

2) Pop out Quest bushing and install RB25 alternator bushing

3) Drill out lower hole in Quest alternator to fit RB25 bolt.

4) Grind the outside of the block where the alternator bolt passes thru so the alternator housing will rotate without deflecting out and preventing the alternator bolt from going in straight.

5) Fabricate new bracket with shorter bolt, longer bolt, and spacers/washers.

Now the voltage is about 13.8V with both fans, the interior fan, and the radio on.

I also installed Defi oil gauges which I'll have to add pictures of. But the ebay sandwich plate I bought has a 1/8"NPT plug that is leaking oil. I initially tried using teflon tape, but that led to the initial leak. Then I tried teflon paste, but that was after oil was in the plate and I don't know how that affects the seal.

Anybody have any good ideas on how to get this to stop leaking? Use more teflon or what?

Liquid gasket on the threads. I use the OEM Nissan **** that comes with the gasket kit.

Ok, I was going to try high temp RTV as the next step anyways, so we'll see how it goes. One of those little things that annoys me...decent car but it leaks fluids and stains the pavement.

I tried the high-temp RTV two nights ago and I don't think it is leaking anymore. Thanks for the tip guys.

That blue plug I think you're talking about is used for the IACV. I may be wrong, but its the only blue plug I've seen on my motorset.
