What would you drive if you didn't have a 240?

Just thought this might be a fun topic of discussion...

If you were going to get rid of your 240sx, what would you get instead?

The first thing I'd probably look for would be an '87-'93 Mustang GT 5.0. Otherwise, I'd be all about a 1st generation AWD turbo DSM (any of the three, but preferably a Talon), another Probe GT, or a Miata.

Yourself?

That is SO gay.

I would vote for a '91 Q45 with a freshly rebuilt engine, impeccable maintenance, aftermarket wheels/tires/brakes and a ten disc changer.

Going new I would say WRX.

Any car? Well, that's gotta be a black on black 911 Turbo.

Good question. When I bought my 240 new long ago, I was deciding between that and an AWD Talon, or an Integra. I bought the 240. Now several years later, still with my 240, I'm leaning toward replacing it with a 350Z (1st choice), an M3 or S4. If I were younger without a family , I might look at an 200hp RSI,which are reasonably priced and well made

An'87 Pontiac Fiero. I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but of all the cars I've owned, that's the only one I miss. I feel so dirty for saying that.....

Hmmm.... Well my previous car was a '99 cavalier sedan with a completely redone suspension. That was kinda cool, but then I nuked the transmission and now it is up on blocks in my parking lot redneck style.

I sold everything off the Cav after I killed it and I just bought a 1990 240 Fastback. I love this car to death even though the suspension is completely shot. The previous owner cut the springs and blew the shocks, don't worry I have Teins on the way...

If I ever get rid of this car, which I prolly won't cuz I never get rid of anything, I will get a '91 RX-7 Turbo II and an '86 RX-7 GXL just in case I get one of them dirty. I came oh-so-close to buying an RX-7 instead of this 240, but the 240 was only a grand and the GXL was $4,500...

hmmm i'd love an awd impulse! especially since it snowed yesterday!

if i couldn't have a 240, i would have probably gota 5th gen Celica GT-S ...i wish i could have found an All-trac, or an ae86

despite the snow, i'm keeping my 240i'll just have to wait until i can afford to have a winter-beater, or get a Scooby 2.5 RS (99' body style mind you)

Why don't you enlighten us with your far superior picks then Tino? And try to make it more than one sentence, if at all possible.

You can't beat this car. It'll endure a punishing lack of maintenance without complaint, it's simple enough that you can work on it yourself, and it's a blast to drive.

If it wasn't so damn slow, it'd be the perfect car.
I agree 100%

Nice picks tino. for me- the 68 Judge in orange. 69-70 challengers are also very awesome. Then there is always a porsche gt3. I could go on forever with this list, but "the judge" will always be at the top.

WTF? Do you know ANYTHING about musclecars? A challenger is a Mopar, and you want to put a BBC in it? With a blower and nitrous? Even if you spent the $$$ to do that, it wouldn't be streetable and you couldn't pass a damn gas station ever. Why would you put a Chevy motor in a Mopar? And how/why would you give it an overbore? That's just dumb as all hell dude.

As far as the Cobra goes, all you have to say is '03 Cobra. There is no "R" in that model. Oh yeah, if there wasn't an '87-'93 5.0, there would be no '03 Cobra. It's still the Fox chassis. It's roots go back to '79.

Know what the hell you're talking about before you tell people they have bad taste in cars. At least Stickgoat knows what she's talking about, unlike yourself. :rolleyes

It just blows me away that you keep coming back with this stuff when it's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about.

What do you think about the kicka.ss stereo system in that '00 Cobra R?

Pretty good, but you didn't answer my question about the stereo.
