Silly mustangs and their crappy suspension.

I beat an '03 Cobra with my Cav at an autocross on all of our 5 runs :D

You couldn't sit a little girl down in her booster seat, much less know how to drive a V8.

I wish I have my 97 civic coupe back. I would probably have the motor built and a turbo already. It was running 13.5 when someone stole it. But now, I'm in love with silivias. But my next car after the silvia would be a either a AWD or FR, manual...which is.....someone fill in the blank. I'm in love with the silvias and i can't imagine getting another car. Maybe my dream car, Farrarie, silver one. Just like Gary Payton's Farrarie, but silver instead.

What the hell is a "Farrarie"? Do you mean "Ferrari"?

K-Car, will you buy my 240 so I can get something else and be blingin' just like P-Diddy? He's my hero! :icesangel

number A. a lotus esprit twin turbo v-8 runs 145,000 dollars, and you cna get the faster, better handling, far more race capable ferrari 360 modena for that.number b. I have driven both a ferrar f355 and the lotus(two), the ferrari wins hands down, in fact, mario anredtti ranked the lotus dead last in a comparison test from C&D in 1998( I think) with the viper, NSX, f355, esprit TT, porshe carrera 4, and the corvette c5.

but yes, the lotus is a bad-*** car, too bed they still use open differentials, and no abs and their body styling has reminaed the same since 20 years ago..but its still a great car in its own right.

also, the cobra R, was NOT AVAIALABLE WITH AMENITIES. stereo, etc was NOT an option. you couldnt evne put them in at added cost. you have to do that aftermarket.

MkII MR2 Turbo... red, 5 spd, ttops... mmmm

I don't fit in my s14 very well, and I don't have the money or time or know-how to make it fast... and even if I did then it would still be stock in the looks dept... so I'm saving for an mr2t ;)

1985 1/2 Porsche 944

O wait, that is my other car. Seriously, i would LOVE to get a Toyota Supra TT. But if it was a car i had to pay for, probably just a 86-89 Porsche 944 Turbo (around the $7-8K range).

If the sky were the limit: 1984 Ferrari 308GTSi Quattrovalve or 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo (their first year for US turbos!). I love older exotics!

Good explanation.

I'm willing to bet I'm a lot smarter than you in reality, and if you can't even justify your insults that says a lot for your true intelligence level.

I don't mind constructive criticism... but people like you are truly a waste.

If you'd like to explain why an mr2 is a stupid choice for a good all-around car I'd love to hear it... or if you'd just like to toss in another meaningless comment like you seem to do that's also fine.

Oh, I forgot... the 240sx is and will always be the only choice for a car, period. Every other car is ****, toyota has terrible build quality, mid-engine cars handle terribly, .86g on the skidpad is not acceptable for a stock car, and turbochargers are the devil.

Edit: not to mention the fact that everyone and their grandma drives a 240sx... well, maybe it's not that bad, but the last time I saw an mr2 was this summer; there are s14's in my neighborhood. There are plenty of owners and very few of them are enthusiasts.

I'm also partial to turbo cars as I owned a TTZ. But I'm sure there are reasons that's a stupid car too.

Mid engine cars handle respectably, the problem is that an mr2 is NOT, yes I said it NOT mid engine. Mid engine means that the engine is above and in front of the drive wheels which are in the rear. In an mr2 the engine is above, but slightly behind the drive wheels, leading to improper weight distribution. If you want an mr2 that gets anywhere NEAR true MR performance, find a supercharged 1st gen. Oh, and T-Tops destroy the chassis rigidity smart guy.

That's much better, thanks for your intelligent post.

As I am not a road racer and will never be winning any money racing or have enough money to maintain a car for those purposes, I could not give a **** about the structural rigidity actually. I was just stating a fact about the handling capabilities of the car. I'd gladly sacrifice handling ability for something functional as to my purposes. That does not mean that the car should never and is not capable of being raced by someone with more money, skill, and time than myself.

The weight distribution issues do present a problem. The weight on the rear of the car does give it a very planted feeling, and inexperience mr2 drivers supposedly become overconfident. This, in a car with all that weight in the back, would be a bad thing. Any 2 owner will tell you that once the rear end starts going it's no 240sx. You can't just slide through a corner and pull it back in while drinking a cup of coffee and switching CD's... it is a very hard car to drive well. That doesn't mean it can't be done.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time... none of this really applies to me anyway.

The mr2 is not technically mid-engine... but the name of the car does imply that.

All cobras are svt and yeah that article was great. IIRC the cobra got its *** handed to it to the powered by honda Elise hehe.

Anyway I dont know what other car I would get if 240's where not available anymore. Probably end up in a TT Z32 or a transplanted and FI 67' datsun 2000 roadster :) I still may do the later car eventually, as I have a strange fascination towards them :)

Oh, if I never had the first 240 forced upon me (it was a 91' fb and my 18th bday pres.) I would be in a 77' coupe deville, or a 63' continental more then likely, and killing ants with my front bumper.

If you want to know the thrill of driving a true mid engine car, sit down this is going to be a shock... spend a few hudred bucks on a V-6 fiero. just don't let anyone get behind you, if they happen to rear end you, you'll go up in flames.

I really don't have a big problem with fieros... neighbor had one for a long time. Other than my reservations about American cars and shoddy build quality, I think they're kinda cool. I'd of course take one if someone gave it to me for free ;)

I don't trust myself to be sliding around anyway, I don't have a lot of experience and I don't have the money to be able to repair anything I mess up.

I would like to do the lapping program at mid-ohio though... $600 seems like a lot, but I'd probably gain a lot more speed from learning to drive my car correctly than I ever would for 600 in parts.

Find the nearest tall building on a main road and YELL that to every idiot that you can see. Then, come to San Diego, and I will personally drive you and a bull horn around town to educate everyone in sight.

I would probably go back to working on my civic and get that H22A conversion, my brother's got a prelude and I love that car.If I had to buy another car though, I would love an FC or an FD (fat chance).

I am surprised of all this mustang stuff. Crap on domestics!!! All my friends always yell at me for living in america driving and loving imports and never owning a domestic. Well the day they start making quality cars, that is the day I may even enter the thought in my head to buy one.

Anyway, back to the main question "What would you drive if you didn't have a 240?". The only "NEW" car that I would consider purchasing is a WRX, 350z, or even better the new G35 Coupe (so, so sweet). Used cars I would purchase and older Subaru Impreza, a 91+ MR2, a 91-96 300zx, or of course another 240sx!

If I had tons of money though, who could pass up the McLaren F1 !!!!!!!!!!!!
