Call me wierd, but I'd buy a 93 Integra GSR, and slap a turbo on that bad boy. The turbo kits are like 2.5K, and you'd run low 14s on stock boost. I loved my old '90 teg, Acura really got the transmissions right; they shifted like butter. The whole console (i.e. heater, cd player, etc) is all pointed toward the driver, makes it seem like a cockpit. Very, very cool. I'd keep the body stock, just lower it. The only mod you'd see is the 3" exhaust bolted to my turbo'd motor. :)

I'll kill myself if I dont have a 240sx. J/k..... I will probably get a 93 BMW 325 convertible and custom Turbo charged. making around 350-400hp. Now that's fast luxury. I love RWD.

I'm willing to bet I'm a lot smarter than you in reality, and if you can't even justify your insults that says a lot for your true intelligence level.

I don't mind constructive criticism... but people like you are truly a waste.

If you'd like to explain why an mr2 is a stupid choice for a good all-around car I'd love to hear it... or if you'd just like to toss in another meaningless comment like you seem to do that's also fine.

Oh, I forgot... the 240sx is and will always be the only choice for a car, period. Every other car is ****, toyota has terrible build quality, mid-engine cars handle terribly, .86g on the skidpad is not acceptable for a stock car, and turbochargers are the devil.

Edit: not to mention the fact that everyone and their grandma drives a 240sx... well, maybe it's not that bad, but the last time I saw an mr2 was this summer; there are s14's in my neighborhood. There are plenty of owners and very few of them are enthusiasts.

I'm also partial to turbo cars as I owned a TTZ. But I'm sure there are reasons that's a stupid car too.

Sorry that you took it that I was mocking you. In actuality I was agreeing with you. Sorry that you took it the wrong way.

For the smart thing, I don't know you might be smarter then me. I don't claim to know everything. But I'm not really much of an idiot either. Before I even had entered high school I already had all the math credits I needed to graduate, along with some others.

But like I said before, I wasn't trying to insult you. I was agreeing with you, I absolutely love the MR2. I was actually looking at getting one before I decided on the 240.

i would either get a lexus sc 400 with a mo fukin twin turbo and push like 500 hp, or get a lotus elise. the really nice one with the type r engine (B18c5) and put a turbo kit on it making about 350hp. that would rule all. the car weighs as much as my nutsack, but i would have to go on a diet. :(

Haha, sorry, must have been the stupid part that threw me off.

I wish there were more mr2's around here, I'll never be able to find one.

I raced my friends MR2...he pulled on me in the launch, but after that it was even...fast little cars, and I love the midship engines...of course don't be dumb like my friend and run 17 psi boost on stock turbo and fuel injectors....he did that for 2 days before the turbo started smoking....I could do w/o thier transmission, when he let me drive it, every time I shifted it felt like i was rowing a boat with one hand...talk about long throws...

To stay close to the budget a 240SX driver would have before he bought his 240SX i'd say an 1990 or later MR2 turbo. It is a bit more money but it has advantages that make the price difference worth it. It runs great stock and looks as good as the 240SX. It's also a solid engine with a solid drag racing layout. Have a heavier rear never hurts off the line if you need some rear wheel traction.

The other car would have to be a Lexus Sc4000.... 1992. They made so few cosmetic and mechanical improvments over the years that the depreciation makes the 1992 a killer deal. Getting under 10K already when the car costs about 40K+ new. They come loaded whether you like it or not and are damn fast for a luxury car. Very reliable and pretty exclusive.

Oh yeah MR2 actually means Mid-engined Rear wheel drive 2 seater so saying that is is not mid-engined is just wrong. The engine is mounted as close the middle of the car without having the passengers sit on the hood or have a trunk that stretches some 8 feet beyond the wall that seperates it from the engine. The mid-engine layout provides more even braking weight distribution, Greater unsprung weight on the rear wheels, and a awesome dose of oversteer. This is all good and all but a heavy rear end and a light nose can make a slight spinout into a major one because they car simply less balanced. A true sports car should have a Mid-engine layout but it's not always neccessary or prefered.

yeah, a NSX would be nice, but who am I kidding. I would, supposing I could just go "poof! car!":

koenigg twin turbo ferrari 360 modena. 700hp, top speed in excess of 210mph(gear limited, too...), 0-60 in something rediculous like 2.9 seconds...

and it handles at high speeds! weeeeeee..R34 Gt-R, and a ferrair enzo and F-40 round out the list. in short, the more cars you know about or have driven, the more I want...sniffle.

so little money, so many great cars.

I'd drive my '92 Pontiac Sunbird SE because I'm to poor to afford anything else. 129,700 miles going strong. 110hp owns the 1/4 mile. Yeah, I know I'm slow. If I could have any car I wanted I'd get a...I'm not sure :'( there are so many choices.

Apparently good240 neglected to READ the post that defined mid-engine. My advice? Go back, read the WHOLE thing and then, if you're still convinced that an mr2 is a real mid engine, then come back.

Hmmm. Old Bugatti's, now you're talking about a real man car, from an era when men were men and sheep were scar....but I think the thread originally asked what car would you be driving if you didn't have your 240sx, not what your dream car is. I don't too many people that own a 240sx that can also afford a McLaren/Bugatti/Viper/Ferrari Enzo/ etc. I also agree, that Bugatti is rather heinous looking...yuck

i think it looks decent besides the mismatched hood and ugly grille. i wouldn't want to pay for the gas or insurance for that thing though.. actually, i wouldn't pay for any part of it. why not just get a mclaren F1?
