The internet is tangible in the sense that it exists in a measurable way, however it is so large and diverse that measuring it in its totality is essentially impossible. The internet can be explained in very simple terms of clients and servers and everything in between, but to sum up the whole internet in an all encompassing way is not possible.

Having put that out there if it was truly tangible then I'm sure it would have only a few hundred websites, most of which would probably be for p0rn.
