It is, came from some 95' land rover forgot what model though. Land cruiser? Its nice and stealthy looks like an OE product, not that it matters its just an oil cooler but still. I'm kinda lost as to what I need, because I also want an oil relocation setup.

Land cruiser is toyota, I'm 99% sure.

Just by the way. I always thought land rovers are just land rovers :gotme

I just got myself a handheld CB radio. A little general electric "emergency" one, that looks like it was state of the art in about 1980 and comes with one of those geeky magnetic antennas. Can't go wrong for $2.

And then, given that it runs off a cigarette lighter, I was obligated to fix mine, which I burnt out a while back when the lighter ended up stuck down for an extended period of time, so I bought it a generic one - which, as one might expect, required dremel work to install.

Now, does anyone know if I could rig the FM antenna for CB, and if it would work properly, or are they physically different?

Trying to figure out why I can hear my plugs sparking on it sometimes, and not others..... but, ehh... And unfortionatly, being "emergency" and lame, it doesn't have any sort of noise squelch for when you're not getting anything. But beggers can't be choosy.

So I've been trying to figure out a reservoir for my liquid to air intercooler that doesn't look like a** and doesn't leak. First I tried to add barbed fittings to the stock radiator overflow reservoir, but it leaked. Then I make something out of PCV fittings. I worked, but looked terrible and took up too much space. So I gave up and bought this;

Then I drilled some holes in it and added some 1/2" FPT bungs;

I didn't have time to go to the hardware store today to get the 1/2" MPT x 3/4" Barbed fittings so I could hook the hoses up, so no install pics yet.

Everything died, even my seatbelt. Jumped it. A few hours later, it was all dead again.

Wiggled the battery clamps. Good as new, as far as jalopies go.

And heat shrinked my 2nd switched radio wire, which was shorting out on things and blowing the radio fuse.

Replaced the blown tie rod ends, added sway bar links that were missing... (They were just dangling)

Other than that, drove it to the shop for a tune.

I agree with your assessment in the video. Stupid looking, but does sound good.

Those things are so ugly, and so contrary to the lines of the car.... They look like the exhaust on something elmer fudd would drive.

Haha yeah too ricer-ish for me but it'll do for now.
Last week I was checking for things that would fail inspection and discovered that both lap belt buckles were broken so I ordered them up and they got here today.

Did a compression test. And the scary torque guestimation/dance of putting a plug with it's original crush washer. Ehh... Hope I don't launch it through the hood.

It was like opening what you think is a package bomb, and then only getting anthrax. Compression is holding strong, right where it was. 119PSI.

Put a mostly uncracked clutch fan in. At least it was.... now I'm seeing a few little ones starting, not sure if that's since I put it in, or I just didn't see them.

And then had to tighten my belt, as that started it slipping.

I don't know what people who say the clutch fan isn't loud, are on. My car sounds like a semi - but I DO like the amount of air it moves in the summer, even though my temps have been fine, after killing the engine, I've been having coolant boil and totally fill the overflow tank, and this seems to have totally fixed it, since idling pulls as much air as driving at a brisk clip.

But I am a bit afraid of fun driving making it explode, as has been known to happen - and of the fact that my car sounds utterly stupid, the fan's as loud as the exhaust.

Fixed my high idle problem. She's been slowly creeping up in RPMs for months now, but I've been too busy to tackle it. Cleaned the MAF, fixed a broken coolant sensor plug, checked all my vac lines for leaks, inspected for broken intake manifold gaskets. Turns out that the throttle stop screw, which has never been touched, and looks like it has never moved from vibrations, needed adjustment. Go figure. The throttle body was letting so much air bypass, I closed off the IACV's intake line and the idle never dropped. But, it's fixed now.

after 2 months in the shop and 3 grand, I finally drove it again. No more broken transmission noise! And tonight I'll bring it to its new garage- no more sharing garage space in an apartment for me.

Gangster.

I put in a test pipe I'd made. I did not realize that there's a lip that extends into the cat..... which did not fit for me. Ended up using a lot of high temp silicone and tightening it until my crappy flange deformed so it's at least secure.... doesn't seem to be leaking. But I can always revert it if I want, I'd thought I might have a slightly clogged cat from how much oil I burn, but it actually looked great, can always go back in.

Pulled out my coilovers to paint them, as they've been rusty since I got them (used). Didn't dry as fast as I hoped, and to keep from banging them up, I'm probably going to have to wake up super early to put them in, in time for tomorrow. It won't look great, but it will beat rusting through.

And, I figured I'd had enough of my jerry-rigged test pipe, and as I was in a favorable mood towards cats and nicer smelling cars at that moment, went to put mine back in..... and promptly snapped one of the studs because of a stubborn nut. It took a very long time to drill out, and I now have a much less favorable attitude towards cats.... but I do have one again.

I wish I had the stuff to make a side-pipe, my inner redneck likes the mud-truck sound and smell of no exhaust.

Engine harness for the MAF was hanging down, and rubbed through when it was rubbing on a pulley going down the road so it sent my ECU into safe/limp mode. Patched the wires. Not really a fun project but necessary!
