Not with our current level of staff participation. We're slammed.

I like moving my mouse cursor up and down the screen and running the highlight over all the topics. Small but amusing feature.

Multiquote fix is in the works... the modification wasn't released (or completed) yet.

For now, they're enabled.
I was just about to post about this .Thanks Greg, keep up the good work! :bigthumb:

Is there any code available to allow videos to be embedded, there are a lot of of Youtube, Break.com, and Vimeo videos floating around this site that are just hyperlinks now.

Those are still up there, under the nav bar under the NICO logo, it looks like this:
NICOclub Forums < General Discussions < General Chat

They are also links that take you to their respective pages. Also, the thread title is up there above the OP, it is also a link and it links to the thread you're in.

Fixed. "Search" was the BIGGEST task. One of the reasons it was such a b**** was that we had searches running that returned more results than some forums have threads! You get 120 people at one time running a search that has to INSTANTLY sift through 5 million posts, SOMETHING'S gonna break. :)

On the list to add. Stay tuned.

2 for 0 now on you.

He means a post-specific reply button that doesn't involve "quote".

You're 0.5 for 1.

The one he mentioned doesn't involve "quote", altho it's not post-specific. ;)

Any idea what's up with the all the SQL code errors as of late, it's intermittent at this point but it's still freaking annoying. I think it's what's been causing a lot of the multiple posts that some people are having a problem with, I suspect it's because they see the error message and hit the refresh button on their tool bars to see if it goes away and all it does is repost what they just posted as many times as they hit the refresh button.

Can't wait for the video embedding though, that is the final piece to the puzzle that I wanted to see.

Oh and while I'm thinking of it instead of making a new thread about it is there any way you can put the Gen Chat sub forums back on the main board, I didn't know where they were until I scrolled damn near to the bottom of the page and saw them in the side bar.

Yeah it is, cause when you hit "reply" and THEN hit "quote" after that screen loads, you get a quote from that specific post. ;)
Or at least it was that way before. I suppose we're not doing it that way anymore then? [/quote]

Hey, another thing...

When you use "quote", it puts a quot within a quote, so you have to edit it or else you get a message saying you can't do that.

You really sucked at Hide-and-Seek, didn't you... ;)

We're trying to keep the main forum listing page from being so damn long... Suggestions welcome, but it'll probably stay as-is.

I've been seeing the SQL errors mainly on the Learned'd thread, usually when I see it is about the same time the View Your Posts link stops working. What if you made the Gen Chat sub forums collapsible, this way the main board wouldn't be so huge for anyone unless that expanded them. Don't mind me, I rarely ever go further down the main page than Gen Chat and occasionally the 240 Forums. If you don't want to make the sub forums collapsible you could just add a single link bar titled Others that opens up to a page that lists each of the sub forums.

Oh and can we please get a Paint and Auto-body section, I understand there is a Section for Detailing, but detailing generally applies to the wash, wax, upkeep of the interior and exterior of a vehicle and not so much the actual paint and repair of it's exterior. I'm sure there is a ton of untapped information that can be shared for those members looking to repair/restore and paint their own cars.

Whoa whoa whoa... WHEN?

We're fixing stuff each hour, so we need time of occurrence, dude.

Not a bad idea. Who's gonna moderate it? We need experts first.

I was going to say that's a good idea. I've never tried body repair on my own, but it would be cool to have a place with that info if I ever needed to (I really want to pick up an old car and restore it). I've got a decent amount of experience with auto paint from working in the industry, but I would by no measure consider myself an expert. I'd be happy to offer up any and all knowledge that I have though.

I've been seeing in the morning the last couple day, it's usually cleared up by around 10:00 AM EST, check the Learned'd thread starting back in the early AM Sat. morning and then the early AM this morning there's a lot of posts that have the error copy and pasted.

I'm sure there are more than a few professional auto=body guys on this board, just put out a call across the formus, I'm sure there are a few older members who can handle the position and responsibilities of being a Mod in a Paint/Auto-body section. I think it would be a great place for people to post how-to's for everything from welding/fabrication, paint, auto-body repair/restoration, and fiberglass.

I don't care, but if anything it annoys me. The highlight effect make it seem like it is selected, but clicking will do nothing unless you still specifically target the link...
If I mouse over something, and it changes colors it damn well better be activated.

so when i asked about rss feeds i was told they were temporarily disabled because they were causing performance issues.

Is this still true? I've used them for so long, i've forgotten how to use NICO otherwise!

Also, doing ego search only shows posts since upgrade now, is this supposed to be that way for performance as well? is this also temporary?

The search indexing usually occurs overnight, so your posts for today probably won't show up in search until tomorrow.
