This past weekend I cleaned my M's finish with a clay bar then applied 4 coats of Turtle Wax ICE by hand. It took almost 6 hours to complete. The paint looks glossy wet. I am very proud of my work. Next weekend, detailing the interior.

Hi, would you like to share with us, how you installed the alarm system? Was it an addon or replacement of the factory alarm system? I've been trying to add an aftermarket 2 way alarm system, to my Nissan Fuga, but it seems the only way to do that is to have it hooked into the serial wiring of the Body Control System, utilizing its existing algoritms and wiring.
Most alarm systems have simple and direct hardwired interfaces to the various sensors, relevant switches and indicators. This would mean an extensive rewiring, if you were going to use on these alarm system.
So how did you do that?

Hello,
I sank $2,657 Dollars for the 6O K Service, a Pair of PS2's, and various other things. The Tires were responsible for over 1400 Dollars of the tally, but it has made a profound difference as I was still on the OEM Pilot MXM4's. I cannot believe just how much better the M drives with these Tires.

At first, the Service Tech did not want to let me use them as they are not in the OEM Size, but due to the lack of choices in the OEM size he gave in. Szhosain's recommendation of 245-45-18 is without doubt the way to go for 03-04 M45's with far greater choices. Great thing is the PS2's are still in the Infiniti Tire Program. Moreover, the price is really not that much higher than Tire Rack when accounting Road Hazard Insurance and Mounting and Balancing. Crazy thing is the price for the PS2's was less than 80 Dollars more than the OEM MXM4's in the Infiniti Tire Program when the MXM4's are far less than the PS2's on Tire Rack.
Cheers,
JJ

Ha! I was about to do this mod when I got back home from my honeymoon. Did you just cut the plexi with a sharp knife and glue them back in place?

I just used a p touch (label maker) that printed a black strip with white lettering and placed over the + and - spots. Once put back together you cant even tell. Took it for a spin today and it's soo much better shifting this way!

I havent drove it at night yet since the install, lol but Im sure it works like OEM. The red thing you see when you place it into gear isnt even light just FYI, it's a square with red lookn tape on it and moves with the shifter.

Yeah I knew that, but the actual + and - are lighted like the PRND

I'll check in a few about the lights for you riggs about to hit the town. Dvan: I saw how to do it on the Japanese forum a while ago but our good ol friend Ken in Az made this thread back in the day for all of us! I did my wiring a little differently but essentially it's the same.post4373740.html?hilit=shift%20mod#p4373740

I did mine a bit differently as well. I basically swapped the two wires in the connector so I didn't have to splice any wires. It can be returned to stock if I ever have to. Took a little while to get the prongs out of the connector, but once I figured out how they were in there it was pretty simple.

I removed my summer/spring and fall wheels/tires, and installed my new winter wheel/tire combo. I'm physically disabled to an extent due to a chronic illness, so I am not very strong, and I have to admit that I found this task very challenging, and am now suffering with very significant muscle pain in my arms and legs. But the job is done - even if it took me 5 hours lol.

Also, I purchased (for this purpose) and initially used one of those hydraulic jacks, but I couldn't easily find a good place to have it jack up the car. The usual jack location markings are made for the crappy jack that comes with the car, so they are very narrow. When I tried to use that location, it bent that location and the area around it.... I ended up using the car's regular jack for the other 3 wheels, but between the pain from my illness and this floor jack not working the way I expected, it took me 5 hours, and wow, I've been in a ton of pain since then. I found out Costco will do it for $40.... So next time, it's off to Costco I go. My wife's winter wheels should arrive in the next 2 to 3 days, and I'm definitely taking her car into Costco.

Cheers
T1

Possibly.. try it out and tell us!

thats my plan. i was initially going to do an led swap like i did in my 350z, but i cant find any gauge overlays, and black cat customs wont make them so im forced to pick up an 08+ cluster. the remaining leds i believe i can swap out to luxeon white.

yea i plan on doing it sometime soon. also i believe the control buttons in the dash are just an orange led, so a simple swapout should render them the color of my choice. i know the window switch ones can be done as theyre the same style as the 350z ones. when i do this, i will do a write up on it.

Please do as so many claim they will do a write up but never do. Even I am guilty of this from time to time!

yes I was thinking about that but the black breaks up all that gray.

the main grill will get repainted next spring, I just don't know what color.

it would be nice if I can find someone to photo shop the grill in gray to see what it would look like.

I'm sure it would look much better when I wash her and apply dressing to the tires, than the main grill & lower grill will match the tires.

Sorry for the late response, it doesnt light up and i think it's bcuz i put a full square over the existing symbols. Im about to help a friend out with this and Im gona try to cut exactly over the + and - signs to see if it will allow light to shine through. I almost put in some red background with white font to see how it would look but i forgot all about that idea when it came time to it. Will keep everyone posted of the next install.

I had managed to curb my driver's side front rim on Monday on the curb in the bank drive-up window. I was moving very slowly, but the ghastly crunching sound meant that I had put a smear of curb rash on the other-wise pristine 19" Sport wheel. Man, I felt sick! I called up the local Allow Wheel Repair franchise (I had used them to fix a couple of bent alloys on my '07 Kia Amanti) and they sent over the truck-based repair shop today. The job took about an hour, and cost $100.00. The good news it that I can't tell that anything ever happened to the wheel, it looks the same as before the curb incident. Im glad I went ahead and took the $100.00 hit; I feel better knowing My M45 is looking good again!

Changed my oil and replaced my old rubber swaybar bushings (front & back) with urethane ones! WOWWW...definately a good upgrade and only took about 40mins to change all 4.
