Shouldn't have sold your car. Trying to live beyond your means comes back to bite you in the a$$ very quickly. Especially when it seems you can't decide what you really want anyway. Just get a Corolla/Civic for now and they'll be reliable enough to get you thru college. Once you're out you'll have the satisfaction of buying a nice, new car w/ your own money.

you know, I am on my 4th car right now

I financed my 1st 2 with my own down payment, my own monthly, my own credit and my own insurance

I came from a family where 2 parents divorced and remarried, neither looked after me since I was 12.

I used to feel sorry for myself but I always knew there are other worse off than me. Looking back, I guess I did pretty well for being on my own.

Looking at this thread, I kind of feel sorry for you and think it's pretty silly how you're reacting to this.

well, man up and deal with it and don't hate your dad for it

That's why my car is almost completely stock and 13 years old.

My last car was 21 years old and the only thing that worked in it was the $50 cd player and the drivetrain. That old Z had a good drivetrain and never left me stranded. No A/C, bad PS rack and weak springs/shocks, been wrecked twice before I got it.....both front end collisions and never fully repaired, brake lights didn't even work, or the headlights, or the intermittent wipers, or the heater, or the rear defrost, or the dash lights.

I had high beams, running lights, tail lights, and it ran like a top.......that's all that mattered. Got me around for 2 years like that. Not bad for a free car that I got running myself for $400 and like 40 hours of work doing a timing job.

Got a lone on my S13.............Yes, a lone on a 13 year old car. $1800 loan.

Take it slowly. You have to work your way to the top. Average/poor people like us don't just start at the top, we have to work are way up gradually.

And if you build yourself up like that it'll always end up in disaster. My motto is to hope for the best and expect the worst.

no, im not gonna hate my dad for this lol, and im not crying or acting like a lil *****.....I think this might be kind of better, mayb buy a nice mr2 or somthing again, rebuild it, make it a decent street monster but keeping its reliability through college.....it might of sounded stupid to yall for me wanting a newer car, and with my dads help....it would have been possible....but now that this has happened...i can probably enjoy cars more, becasue if i got a new car, what would have probably happened is i would be scared to race it or still, somthing messing up and it would be worse becasue i wouldnt have money to repair it! so this could be for the better...

Dave again

It doesnt matter if its 00+ the car can have the same problems as a 10 year old car.

Buy something cheap and reliable, and stick the rest of the money in an account that draws intrest, and add a little to it every month. By the time you get out of college you'll be able to get damn near anything you want.

All excellent quotes.

Statix, you're a dumbass...I've got a great idea for you, buy a S13 for $2k, then put all but about $1k of your money in a CD.When I was a kid, we SAVED our money...

..... And your sig is full of sold or wrecked cars....I wonder how many people on NICO could fill a whole page with sold or wrecked cars that they owned....

You sold/wrecked it, it's gone. Let it go. Move on. Get a new sig.

And grow up...... my daddy never bought me a car.
