update-

as mentioned before the subframe is up and everything is torqued to spec with the rear struts and brakes bolted up. i just need to connect the passenger side hard line to the ss brake line i have and then everything back there is done. heres some pics of the sub frame install/brakes/struts.before the bottom can come back on the ground i need to crawl under and bolt the e brake cables up as well as touch up with truck bedliner, now that i moved the jackstands i can coat the area where they were.

While I was bolting on teh brakes, my Dad gave a hand by removing the tail lights, cleaning all the tar off of them and resealing them with this stuff before reinstalling themI went back today and checked the seal but dumping water on the hatch, but it looks like everything is perfect. the caulk sealed up nicely and was much cheaper then the other stuff i was using. heres shots of the tail lights and my dad caulking them.

from the inside, everything sealed nicely

now the the leak is stopped and no more water will get in, i can rip up the fatmat and dry the water thats under it before recoating it. i already pulled some back a little

my gave plan for tomorrow is to hook up the last brake line and ebrake cables, coat with more truck bed liner and redo the fatmat. i'm trying to get my shift at work picked up so i can get more work done tomorrow, so we'll see what happens

im sure but i thnk you mean something like thishttp://www.partsamerica.com/pr...2.jpgthats wha ti was using but it leaked. it's a little stiff and can be harder to work to get it to seal up nicely, especailly during the cold weather which is when i tried the last time. the caulk is less solid and fills everything for a nice seal.

i'm working on the underbody right now, update coming tonight

hey sorry I never got back to you on the carpet, I peeked the pics and it looks worn through. I found some piggy carpet at the u pull I'm gonna inspect further.

But on to a serious question, where did you get the VLSD shims? I went to the dealer and tried to order everything in stock for the entire US. Only 4 random size shims, doubt they will come in.

the carpet is not worn at all. there arent even heel wear marks. the only blemish is the rear of the driver side has a little discoloration. it can probably be shampooed out but i don't have time to mess with it. i just called the dealer with the part number and they got it in the next day. it was easy.

preparing an update and uploading pics

oooooohh nice! that underbody looks clean enough to eat off of, literally lol.

how stiff are those KYB AGX'S on the highest setting? I want some coilovers eventually, but I've been thinking of getting some agx's for now cuz I have some mad body roll and a pretty soft ride right now =/

thanks man the underbody keeps getting cleaner and cleaner too. didderson could answer exactly how these feel, these are his old ones. my last kybs were different. mine were ok, had some roll, but i'd try stiffer sway bars to help with roll.

update-

i finished and installed the fuel pump covers. it's clean looking where no one will see it .

next, i started ripping up the fatmat i found a little water underneath as i suspected.there was one spot though that was bad i sanded it down and hit the whole area with xo rust paint.

then i started redoing the fatmat

pretty much back to where i started, but im just glad there's no more water underneath.

there's still more fatmatting to do, but i put that on hold to focus on the front half of the underbody. I scrubbed everything down, scuffed it good and wiped it down with paint thinner. after that i sprayed it with xo rust and then started with the truck bed liner.these pics were taken during the progress so not everything was coated yet.heres how its looking after the first coati'll go back before work tomorrow and hit it up with as many more coats as i can.

as the bed liner was drying i replaced the steering rack bushings. it was a piece of cake and now the there are nice new ES bushings in place of the 19 year old ones.new bushings installed

the old ones

not a bad bit of progress for having to go into work as well. i'll be hitting it again hard the next couple days as well.

heres some nice new parts that just came in

i should have the car back on the ground shortly, then the interior goes in and just wire clean up and dropping the engine in. my immediate goal is to get it back on the ground so i can move it, it's too cold outside.

What do you think, looks like there's room for an s13 in here

ps- keegan, i look forward to hearing your sexy idea

yeah i ordered 2 .80mm shims, one 1.01mm, and one 1.25mm shim. The dealer looked them up nation wide and there werent many in stock so I asked him to get all he could.

Okay it may have been the pic, this weekend can I come out and pick up the carpet, I'm off both days.

hmm, i just called my ocal dealer with the pn for the largest one and they got it in the next day. I'm free sunday after 1pm let me know. i'm not sure about next week yet, and i work all day tomorrow

stock t25 and roughly 230whp at stock boost. i say roughly cuz the people dynoing it did it in 3rd, but 4th gear yields the best results for a turbo car.

updates coming in the next day or so, i'm going out tomorrow to pick up some parts for the project.

nice, i'm shooting for over 350whp when i upgrade the turbo, but that won't be for awhile. Right now i just want to beat my little brother

thanks for the props, not much to update now i've had to work and had a family xmas thing yesterday and then the inlaws wanted us to come over on new year's day so a bunch of my time was eaten up. i'll dive back in and get more updates but for now this is all i havenew energy suspension sway bar endlinks. i already have the bushings from the master kit, but the endlinks themselves were looking pretty bad so i picked these up for $20. next i need to remove the flca, get front lower ball joints for them and put in the ES flca bushings. after that teh bushings will be done and the car will be on the ground.

a little random, but i have some bushings from my master kit that i'm not using that i'll see for cheap. i have the steering rack bushings (for s13 or s14), the subframe inserts, ruca bushings and probably a few others. let me know if you want any, i'll get some pics and put em in my fs thread.

look for more updates soon

I personally think youre doing much better work on this car than the black one. I dont mean that negatively at all. Much more meticulous. Good stuff!

well i've finally managed to snap some pics. since the last update the front struts are out as well as the front lower control arms. i put the arms in the bench vise and used the acetylene torch on teh ball joints and the inner bushings. after everything was torched out they looked like thisi took 50 grit and a wire wheel to the arms and then sprayed them in semi gloss after wiping them down with paint thinner.after 2 coats i pushed the bushings in and drove in the new ball joints.i started by using the bench vise as shown in my article, but after it was started i switched to a hammer and piece of wood to drive it the rest of the way in. the reason for this is that i b1tched up the bench vise handle pounding on it with a hammer last time.after the bushings and ball joints were in, i hung the arms to give them more coats all around.i also picked up the correct rear sway bar end links and installed them

i would have more pics but it was soo cold outside the camera was acting up. i'll snap some more tomorrow, and the car will be ready to come down soon.
