More pics....
The folder so far. It's starting to get pretty thick.
The boxes of wiring I have to install.
The beginning of wiring this thing. I had already seperated the 240sx engine room harness (on ECCS harness) when I removed the motor. By doing this, I saved myself a huge headache later on (or now, however you want to see it).
Spaghetti anyone?
Just to fill in the "do-it-yourselfers". This is a 6 terminal plug from a fuel injector subharness. I am using it for the Accelerator Pedal connector. The pins line up, but the orange clip (normaly inside connector, not there now) will keep the pins from seating completely in the pedal sensor. You'll need to trim the outside of the connector off, and leave the tab that holds it in place. I have posted this for one reason. The gas pedal connector on a Z is part of the engine room harness....NOT the dash harness, NOT the engine control harness. Also, there is only one plug that fits the gas pedal, and it wont come with most of the harnesses you buy. So, since I didn't have an extra engine room harness laying around (donated the last one to the red car), I had to make a connector. If you are doing this swap, and dont have access to extra wiring or connectors, then just solder the Z injector subharness already on your motor, to the Engine control harness and use that connector on the gas pedal. This is not my perfered way to do things, but since it's my car, and Im not spending hundreds on a harness for one connector, this will do just fine.
If you do it this way, make sure you ziptie the connector to the pedal sensor. The tab holds firmly, but better safe than sorry. Remember, APP is an immediate FAIL SAFE fault, and will also result in no throttle operation.
Installed in the car. Not much here to see.
10 hours later and I finally have the engine room wired up. I still have to wire in the Refrigerant Pressure sensor (A/C sensor) and the alternator. I had to make my own E10, E11 and E12 connectors. Those three are what connect the engine harness to the main harness. This is where most of the power is wired in, as well as the gas pedal and various sensors.
On the shock tower, there are the E10, E11 and E12 connectors. Compare them to the red car I built. They are different because I installed connectors that I had both male and female ends for.
I lenghtened the #2, #4, and #6 coil wiring so that I could run it under the cover (from rear of engine).
That's the latest update!
