A hesitant 300? Just sell the bastard and buy a new one?!Replace engine?

Please, some one diagnose the patiente before atempting a heart transplant! It might be a flu (the normal one, not even the funky one).
Thank you, That's what I keep trying to tell everyone in this damn thread. It's just hesitation. The main cause of that on these cars are the spark plugs. I remember you saying the previous owner did injectors plugs timing belt etc etc, but check to see if they are NGK- PFR11b series plugs.

As for the connectors you can check that yourself, just carefully unplug so as to not break them and if you see any pesky green corrosion take a nail file or somthing and clean them out.

Ah good... That's good to hear. I would still take on that EFI harness... But first things first. Find the problem.

Maybe I misunderstood something. Anyway, you're on the right track. And again... relax!

Calm down Vanessa!

My car was made in March of 89' lol. Never misses a beat except for on really cold mornings. Then I seem to get a little stutter before it warms up. I'm hoping the recall was done but idk.

Engine Vacuum Leakshttp://www.aa1car.com/library/vacleak.htm

My car acted like yours once and I had found it with a baby hose unplugged and dangling... so it could be as simple as that. I also had a problem with my catalytic converter being plugged up at the same time which fixed it self miraculously after smelling like rotten eggs one day so who knows....Im actually not totally sure if its really fixed since my cars been off the road for a long time now but you should definitely buy a low mile Z rather then do extensive work on the one you have.

The economy is still in the slumps and Zeds are getting older... Im sure great deals are to be had if you sell your car for a decent price and seek a clean Zed.Perhaps a twin turbo model

It isn't. The problem usually is more age related than actual mileage.

Almost 20 years of exposure to the elements can be nasty on rubers, sensors, electrical connectors, etc...

I don't recall seeing anyone complaining of a mechanical failure on a stock car other then clutches, starters, water pumps, etc but those are "consumables"...

What kind of underground cult do you belong to, to have possession of such a pamphlet? I knew there were elite secret societies but I never thought how advanced they were in cloning humans.

I would leave the sex and killing of the clone life style to the sophisticates but rather just keep a Doppleganger to do duties around the house and fix my car... I would have to collar chain it and hide all the sharp objects of course.

Since you want to keep a Z for a long time and do find out you have a problematic engine head part, I would just get another Z rather then pay lots of money to replace it right. Personally if I was to spend money for new parts I would get a TT to start with or a 2+2 to convert it into a TT.Most likely you have a minor problem that is hard to spot but here is a list of cars to look at.http://www.cars.com/for-sale/s...=DESC

^^ those are good. except beef and chicken flavor gets a little boring. if you look harder u can find terayaki turkey and some other flavors, they eat better dry. pork is not bad, shrimp is okay. the only thing sucks about eating dry is that if you drink any water afterward you'll feel like s***.

that's all i ate while my mom is gone for vacation for a month, cooked of course.

I have a feeling that's all I'm going to be eating once I start REAL work on the Z. I never really tire of beef flavor, though. The teriyaki is AMAZING though. I never knew you could put flavors like that into ramen.

I know we've had a thread about MPG's and i usually shift around 3000. Since i buy 93 though gas can get a little pricey at times so I want to raise my MPG's. I know that shifting at low rpm's will do it but how low is too low? let's keep in mind that you don't need to take off quickly or need to pass someone or go below the idle rpm's. is it bad to shift at, say, 1500-2000???

Yes. I wouldn't shift below 2200. And premium isn't really all that pricey... It's only like $3-$4 more per fill up at the most...

Unless you go to Shell or somthing then premium is only like 20 cents a gallon more than regular. that's like a dollar every 5 gallons. Donno about you but it take 13 to fill up my 2+0. So yeah...

People who buy cars that should be run on premium but insist on just trying to get by on regular or mid grade piss me off. If you can't afford the gas, you shouldn't have bought the car! My moms boyfriend asked me the other day if I thought it was a big deal that he only puts 87 or 89 in his A5 .

If you are lookking for mpg's I would shift at about 2200-2500. That's just me though. Everyone has their own way of saving gas when driving?

What MPGs do you usually get?

Looks like someone didn't pay attention

Oh and Vanessa, if you really want, you can always look for a station (usually only Sunoco but there are a few others in Jersey) that also sell 91. It'll be 2-5 cents cheaper than 93.

That's exactly what I would do. Any lower and you'll be lugging the motor wayyyy too much (stupid variable valves and their s***ty torque production).

And like he said, what kind of mileage are you getting? If you're gettin like 21-23 then get used to it. It'll be VERY hard to get better than that with a stock Z.

not exactly sure what i'm getting but its definitely under 20, I usualy get around 180 miles per tank and maybe 220-230 if its all highway (like when ive gone on a 100mile trip) because of work i do a lot of city driving. LOTS of traffic so my mpg's suck..a lot.

How many gallons. Drive the car til the light goes on, top it off. Drive it again til the light goes on again, record the mileage and then top it off. Take your miles traveled since the last fill up and divide them by the number of gallons you put in. That's the most accurate way to get your mileage.

The reason I'm asking is cause most Z's take around 14 gallons to fill up from the light being on, so if you're doing that you're only getting like 12-13 mpg which would suggest you might have other problems...

i wait till i'm pretty low and it is around 14 gallons.. ill track it so i can get a more accurate number. its usually during the week when i go through gas very quickly. work is like 6 miles away but it takes me about 40 mins to get there with traffic/ lights/ potholes etc.

I used to get the same when I had a bad 02 sensor and a vacuum leak.

My friend has a 2+2 and gets about 25mpg on the highway.
