Haha idk I never got around to it. I kinda just wanted to pop in one day with pics of a lowered black slicktop on bronze LMGT4's doing burnouts lol. I don't have a ton of pics but I guess I could make one.

So I just got to my sister's to babysit. when i got off the highway and onto the offramp i had to come to stop to merge onto the street traffic and she lost power and died. i turned her back up with a slight hesitation but she turned on and i got to my sister's just fine. I'm really nervous about this cuz the same thing happened to me last night. what is this!??!?!?

Did you go through that tune up you mentioned a while back? If you did, what was the outcome?

Regarding the hesitation, please go through this reading:http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cm...t.340

It is quite good.

If you don't have access, do register (http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/). It is worth it.

Good luck.

hey, reading the article now.

I did not go through the steps you gave me. the most i've done to a car is change a tire so i just don't feel comfortable messing around under the hood with any supervision. =(

Sure, I understand... But that should bring some light on all the possibilities there are to fix something like that.

It's not like anyone could say: "hummm. press that button! Is it fixed now?"

Unfortunately, that is...

As you found out by yourself, you should take it to a mechanic, preferably one that is good with the 300...

I'm too far away for any advice, but is somewhere from the forum nearby you that could take a look or point you in the right direction?

well there's a Z mechanic about an hour from me that i've been emailing- i'm just a bit low on cash. I'm gonna have to find some money somehow though cuz i need some serious help. And I don't know why I don't have any guy friends who are mechanically inclined!

"Is it a 1990 model?

The driver's side head was machined wrong and the result is a problem with the crank angle sensor to exhaust cam splined joint. They will wear themselves out and the car will develop a hesitation that will continue to get worse. There are some Band-Aid fixes like only replacing the CAS ($350) or the cam and sensor ($2100) but the real fix is to replace the heads. Check with the dealer about a TSB Nissan has issued on this problem to see if your car is affected. I believe all 90 models are. "

how much would replacing the heads cost????

Just to replace with known good heads without any cleaning or rebuilding would be about 200-400 in parts and maybe 10 hours so 650 for labor, I dont ever take my car to shops so this is a very rough estimate however if there was a TSB you might be able to work with thew dealer (not likely) but possible to get this done for you for cheaper or maybe even charge it under warranty as a recall buuuut once again i've never looked this so dont quote me.

Fingers crossed it is just a sensor or a corroded connector. Hopefully nothing as serious as that. The heads new would cost a fortune. A used set maybe you could strike a good deal around one of these forums...

Anyway, don't panic. First "you" have to find the issue...

Hummm... Not changing heads... Changing the entire engine... Changing car.

Take it with some humour...

Again, it could be for a million reasons (I'm exagerating but sometimes, with this car, it feels acurate)... I had a hesitation on mine. It turned out to be a busted TPS. $10 fix... And some headaches to find the problem. And a couple months.

BUT I don't have easy access to parts and no one knows this car around here so it makes everything more tricky.

Throttle Position Sensor. Mine hesitated with constant throttle (when floured, it responded well, perfect idle, didn't die)... So different symptoms I guess.

It was just a example for you not to panic thinking about heads and stuff

And now?

Still in panic mode?

Relax... You'll have plenty of time to panic when you find what needs to be fixed.

You just made my sig hahaha and vanessa dont worry, the head needing to be replaced is the worst possible outcome of this, like pintovit said its probably soimething simple and stupid.

Don't worry about the heads or the soft valves, those problems didnt affect many 300s. And if your was affected it's safe to say it would've been stopped running. What did the people at the shop do to your car?

I say if you just need to replace your EFI harness and in the process you will discover any electrical issues you may have plus you'll have a new EFI harness.

http://www.amazon.com/NISSAN-E...62UOO

that one is TT but it will work for an NA you will just have some unused connectors hanging around. and anything under 400 is a fair price when nissan charges upwards of 600
