To the people who are adamantly against about putting a v8 into a 240, they are just in shock and dismay. Most people don't understand why anyone would want to undertake the task of putting a v8 into a 240 when there are so many other engine option available that are more direct. Personally, i don't like it, unless it were to be a drag-racing car i can't see it working out for the car's driveability at all. IMO, i feel that the 240 is a curve-carver not a straight-liner, just take a look at the independent 4-wheel suspension. It was the new thing at the time, and it still proves to be one of the cars' strongpoints.
This is all opinions really, and like someone else previously stated; it's all about how much $ you have and what you want to do with it. And that's all that matters--even if other people disagree.
You see, this is the argument many bring up...but just like the example I posted about the rx7, balance can be easily achieved w/the right engine. The 13b (rotary engine) is lighter than the ka, and the Ls1 (corvette engine) was even lighter than the rotary. Again, it's all about picking the right v8 (ls1 and lt1's being my fav's) to work for you. I don't see how the excellent torque and horsepower curve would not benefit an s13 in every application, not to mention the obviously better center of gravity (if done like in the fc).
In other words, if it has been done in an fc to work just as good (or better) than the stock engine did, why would it not work on an "inferior" s13/s14.
