I'm not afraid dude. Tim is a man of his word and since he told me I was going to have no problems with the car when I get it back I believe him. The guys at SFR do great work and it shows in my eyes. I told Tim since the beginning to take his time on the build so I will not have problems after I get it back. As far as I know my car was the first to ever start getting a transmission swap. I don't blame Tim and the guys at SFR for the many problems that can up. About the intake manifold dude I haven' taked to Tim. I will be calling him tomorrow to see if the second harness came in and I'll talk to him then. I'm done putting money into the car right now so I'll have to see what I can work out with him on that level.blackteam02 wrote:FAAAAAK maiiin! m friggin exhausted after reading this thread!-and a bit afraid too...lolz
i HOPE all goes well with this-DAMN THIS SUCKS!!
is this normal? i mean do these things happen on the regular with builds like this??
what about that SFR intake manifold?-u have that buttoned on as well??
I don't get the "@ 88mph "you get to see serious s***!" thing. I really don't get your whole post dude.blackteam02 wrote:...i feel for u RC! as long as SFR took with this build i hope @ 88mph "you get to see some serious s***!"..& hey when u get back tell us how 1985 was!!
I'm pretty sure they aren't saying "We shoulda never taken it in the 1st place!". I think it was brave of them to take the job and be willing to attemp to do it first since it had never been done before. Like Tim stated on the other thread...nig1 wrote:I bet SRF is like "dayam this car ain't done yet?!! We shoulda never taken it in in the 1st place! Over 1 year and it's still not finished..this is costing us more $ to fix than we thought....and why is he calling us every damn time???! Let me work on finishing da ##$% car!!"
hehe that might be an exaggeration but it's mutual both parties just wanna be done and over with. Looks like ur car is 99.9% finished...hope that 1% doesn't take 3 months. ...but then there's the test-drive and making sure everything functions..oh boy.
I believe all that he claims has happend with problems. I've talked to my personal friend who is the shop manager and master tech at the Nissan dealer. I've told him step by step in problems that SFR has been having and he has confirmed EVERYTHING is true and I'm not getting BS'ed. I'm very sure that I will be happy with my car when I get it back.speedforceracing wrote: Ricky came in for a CVT to manual swap.He came in when their were very few wrecked Altima coupes with six speeds in the country. Now there are quite a bit more. But anyways...We started to source the parts we needed and we ended up having to order just about everything new from Nissan. And it was a steep learnign curve as we have done auto to manual swaps before on 350s and G'2 but this Coupe with its CVT was a real pain in the a**.There were over 100 different parts between the CVT and the six speed!!!!!! And we would order soemthing and it would come in and then we figured out we would need something else and so forth and so on! Then our local Nissan delaer just lagged on some things. And we also had to rework the turbo system to work with the six speed as it required some changes to it.Then we also had to build him a new exhaust system. And then we had to work around problems he created with his XM radio install,etc......so it has been a pain in the a** and unfortunaly what could have taken a few weeks if we could have bought a complete clip has taken a year since we had to order this part and that part and got sent wrong parts and then needed this clip and that bolt and this and that!!!!!

PS: Sorry for the long post.
