I called Tim today and he sounded possitive about it being done by Friday. He said that he and 2 other guys were working on it when I called. He did say that at that point he didn't know for sure if it was going to be done by Friday. It all depended on how far they were going to get with it today. He told me to call him back tomorrow afternoon to get an actual answer. Imma start work a bit late tomorrow since I have early meetings with other businesses I want to start and get into which means I will be taking lunch around 1:30 so I told him I'd call him then.

As soon I have an answer I will post it up ASAP :bigthumb: .

Epic fail on SFR. All the post I read from you is that you are hoping to pick it up soon, then something happens and gets prolong. So sad to hear about your situation with SFR. I just hope in the end you will be happy with your car.

Yeah, I think by this point I'd just not call them for a few weeks. Doesn't seem like it's doing any good.

I spoke to Tim today. He said that the car was going to be done by Friday after noon or Saturday mid-day. The problem with the weekend is that his friend Jim Wolf i believe his name is will let him borrow the CPU to reflash the remote ( smart key ), but he said they have to get the code from Nissan Japan or something. Tim said that he seems that it's going to take longer that way that he'll just put the car on his trailer and take it to the dealership and have them reflash the remote and he'll pay for it.

I called him on my way home from work to get his thought omn percent chances of it being done and he said he knows it's going to be done before next weekend 100%. Now the problem is if I'll have time to go pick it up next weekend :tisk: .

sorry to read this ricky... ur a stand up guy! but you've been lied to and misled so many times regarding your car, its sad. Unfortunately, not only do I predict that your car won't be back to you prior to August, but i think that, unfortunately, it will have tons of problems for years to come that only SFR will know of their subtleties of the hack job that was ultimatley done.... sad situation bruh!

I'm thinking they may have started in the wrong way and just went downhill from there.

I mean, the other dude who swapped his had it done in very little time and seems ok?

DOC: I'm getting my car back from Tim with a warranty in anything happends regaring the swap and work they've done so I'm not worried about that.

DReed: My low boost was set at 6 PSI and my high boost at 7 PSI.

At this point there really isn't much I can do about the car not getting done. I don't know of anyone or shop that will do it in CA or nearby locations. So bottom line is I have to wait for Tim and the guys at SFR to get it done and PRAY that all goes well with no problems for a while.

Glad your car is almost done (hopefully). I've been without my car for sometime now and I should have it back tomorrow or Monday I'm pretty excited, I could only imagine your eagerness for receiving your car after all this time. That's gonna be such a nice drive home.

Regarding Daniel, I haven't talked to him since that meet in San Diego when it was pouring rain right before Doc left. I texted him regarding the Stillen Open House a few times but I don't believe I got a response. I'll try calling him on Monday or Sunday and make sure he's doing alright.

I'm calling shenanigans here. How could it possibly take 1+ year to boost your car and swap to a 6 speed? Even if they only worked on it 8 hours a week(which I doubt) they would have already logged 400+ hours!

I know that's my point. There is no way it should be taking this long. I think they are stringing Ricky on big time. I realize that there were many complications and parts had to be ordered etc etc, but it shouldnt have taken over a year! Thats crazy. By the time he gets his A/C back its kindof already and old car and the amount of money put into it could have bought something sweeter! I mean I plan on keeping my A/C for a while since I think it still looks better than any other car in its price range (especially with the stillen lip, rockers, corners and wing).

Ouch, that is horrible. Even when they knew there was no R&D done to the 08+ Altima's. Just trying to make some quick bucks aye? Not going to bash them anymore than I have done already.

I just want to respond to this, being that I'm the only one atm to have this completed. This is a true story, the same thing happen to my car. Now, the Nissan Japan s***, is s***, but you do have to go to a dealership to sync a key with it, so you can start the key. The problem is, you have a brand new CPU so your old key doesn't matter and even if you had the old key, to the new CPU, it wouldn't work, due to the fact once you remove the CPU it will drop it's code. =D So at least this part I can say is true, but they have taken you threw alot of s***.

Ricky, I am not really sure what to say.

I personally think that it was a bad idea to do the swap. I think that this shop is taking its sweet time and has no clue what they are doing. They seem like a cut first ask questions second type of shop. I can say that because I have been there and talked to them and I saw your car sitting up on lift. If they really had any clue on what they were getting into they would have not quoted you 3 months. They just wanted your money.

It all sounded great! its the coolest idea ever. But you cant get that year back from your car just sitting there while they figure it out. To bad you couldn't drive your car while they sat on there a**. I would be so mad you have no idea.

It is unfortunate you are in too deep already. I only hope you get your car back as soon as possible.

I have a lot more to say, but that's all my opinion. I think you know already what you got yourself into by now.

It sucks, but what can you do? I hate being in that situation.

I swung by this past Friday. The car mechanicly is completely done. All that's needed it 2 wiring harnesses that lead out from the main harness for the VDC. After those are plugged in the car can be taken to the dealer to have the keys reflashed, turned on and tuned. Tim told me to call him midweek to get the status of the harnesses. He ordered them from a dealer nearby and is waiting for them to receive them so they can take them to the shop. If the car is done by this coming week I will not be able to pickup the car because I'm booked with work. I will go the following weekend which is going to be the weekend of my birthday (15th of August).

I don't see why he didn't already have them ordered? It seems like that should be a no brainer requirement.

He ordered the main harness and thought that they were going to be included. When they were installing the main harness they noticed that they weren't included. So he ordered them 1 1/2 weeks ago through the dealer. Since they are special order parts it takes time for them to get it and when the dealer does they will personally take it to SFR. I used to work at a dealer and have friends that work at one so I know for a fact the time it takes for the dealer to get special order parts. BUMMER :frown: .

Hmm maybe i should have asked this before or in its own thread.

Are u getting the same transmission as a 3.5 or is it gonna be beefed up? Side question - Is the 2.5 manny transmission the same as the 3.5 manny transmission?

Tim and the guys installed the oem transmission from a 3.5. It really didn't come to me to ask him what mods can be done to beef up the MT. I did have them install the HLSD though. If I remember correctly Mehdi said before that the 2.5 and 3.5 have the same MT's. It's the CVT's that are different. That is an "I THINK" :yesnod .

I called Tim today and they received one of the harnesses. There is only one more that's needed which is being delivered to the dealer from a further location so it's going to be a bit more for the dealer to get. Like I stated though I stopped by the shop this past friday and the car looks GREAT. It's completely done besides the last harnesses that were needed. Well one harness now. Almost done, almost done and almost done. I can say that the car is my car is now 98.5% done  .

I bet SRF is like "dayam this car ain't done yet?!! We shoulda never taken it in in the 1st place! Over 1 year and it's still not finished..this is costing us more $ to fix than we thought....and why is he calling us every damn time???! Let me work on finishing da ##$% car!!"

hehe that might be an exaggeration but it's mutual both parties just wanna be done and over with. Looks like ur car is 99.9% finished...hope that 1% doesn't take 3 months. ...but then there's the test-drive and making sure everything functions..oh boy.
