Guess I'll go to my old work and get some aluminum flashing. Works great for heat shields as well.

Im sure you know that Kazama sells them. A little pricey , but the oem nissan ones are $68.40 from trademotion.com , so $148 for an aftermarket one isnt bad.

I plan to do a write-up over the weekend using aluminum roof flashing. Depends on weather and time.

Alright,Here's the scoop. The guy hasn't replied my emails. I guess it's either cost was higher than he thought, he had a trouble with machine shop or he doesn't have enough fund to get this thing going. I'm so sorry about this. I have something for you guys though.

When I modified my J-Spec rear ladder bar, I worked with a local machine shop guy, and he was a perfectionist and anal like me, so we hit it off right away. He was a good guy too. It was a small project, but he helped me with modifying ladder bar and chrome plating it like this.

He just bought a brand new plasma cutter a couple of weeks ago, so we are trying to mass produce this under body plates. If possible, I want to be a Nico sponsor and sell this here. This is a picture of OEM under engine guard and aluminum plate side by side.

I measured the plate when it was on my car and modified some stuff. When I installed it holes didn't line up correctly. It's going to be wider to cover more area and front end will have 90 degree bend for better look, protection and air flow.

I also can have all the installation hardwares(spacers, nuts, bolts and washers) as an option too. We will make a first template with a thin sheet metal sometime next week and test fit on my car. I'm really anal about this kind of stuff, and I'll make sure you guys get a nice one at GOOD price. I'll say that again. GOOD price. Good thing is it's easy to change the design of it, so oil drain hole and mounting holes can be moved easily. Good news for guys with different engines.

One more thing. I want to make it with a diamond plate too, but he's not sure if his bender can handle it since the surface is not smooth and flat. I'm going to get a piece of diamond plate and we will test the bender next week. I might have to remove 90 degree bend in the front for the diamond plate. You guys waited long enough, so I'll make sure to get this thing going ASAP.

Cool, 94!

Please make sure that the diamonds are at perfect 45 degree angles from the sides, and that the supplied hardware matches the plate.

Thanks guys. I found a supplier for the diamond plate and will pick up some samples on Monday. They have different thickness, so I will make sure to pick up something that's thick enough for protection and still work well with the bender. Just keep in mind that diamond plate might not happen if bender machine doesn't work well with it or it's not going to be as nice as aluminum plate since I might have to get rid of front 90 degree bend.

Alright,Here's the update. Drawing is done, and I just got the first cut on thin sheet metal from the machine shop for test fit. It fits PERFECT!!! Bending will be precise unlike this one BTW. This one's more for mounting holes, drain hole, front cover, overall dimension and such. I measured 3 cars before I finished the drawing.

1. Mine. KA with Nismo power brace2. JDM Silvia front end & SR with Greddy oil pan and Nismo power brace3. SR with stock oil pan and stock tension rod brackets

I learned that this cover was originally developed for SR equipped JDM s13s, so I changed the dimension and location of oil drain hole for both SR and KA. Mounting holes were located slightly different on Nismo power brace and stock tension rod brackets, so I moved them around too. You shouldn't have to use Dremel to modify the holes. It'll just bolt right up. I stretched the rear end(steering rack side), so it covers more in the back. In the front, there was an opening, so I added 90 degree bend for better finish to cover the area. I couldn't go wider because sheet metal comes in as 1200mm wide, so 600mm is the best I could do. Sorry about that. This is ready to go, and I will have them ready in a couple of weeks. For the Greddy oil pan, I'll have to draw another version because oil drain hole won't work. I'm still having a problem finding thinner diamond plate, but I haven't given up on it yet. Yeah, bender didn't work on 1/8" diamond plate. I have one question though. Does anyone want it without oil drain hole? If so, let me know.

Sorry. I don't know anything about ARC oil pan. I haven't seen one.Paypal would work just fine. I'm going to find out shipping cost tomorrow.

Quote »are the mounting points using existing hardware?
Yes, but you will need one long 10mm bolts for the front one. Bascially, you need five 10mm bolts(1 long, 4 regular) and 2 nuts.

Quote »I STILL WANT ONE IN DIAMOND PLATE IF IT CAN BE DONE
It's just a matter of finding a right thickness diamond plate. Diamond plate is expensive though. 1/8" thick diamond plate is $10 per square foot. Anyway, I'll try my best and let you know.
