I thought I had made one of these threads last year, but I cant find it so here goes.. Feel free to post your experiences or comments about the forum we have all grown to love... The one, the only... NICO!

When I joined NICO I was green behind the ears, I didn't know anything about cars for the most part and the insight and experiences I have read here have increased my knowledge SIGNIFICANTLY...

I was also never a member of any forums (and had to google FTW and several other common terms lol).

Its almost 2 years since I have joined NICO and I have nothing but positive experiences to show for it! From being recognized on the street by members, to getting involved with NICOfest events, Group Buys, Discounts, Sponsorships...

There's nothing more I could ask for from a forum, from the staff, or from its enthusiast owner (aka the hitman or "greg-e-poo")

Ive made some real friends here that I am quite fond of online, and some more that I interact regularly with in real life, all ACES in my book!

I look forward to this weekend and Carlisle NICOfest 2009, where I will be able to put many more faces to the members, some of my altima guys are coming from Canada and as far as Chicago for the event.

To NICO!

nico is just an all-around kick-a** place. i also spent a lot of time googling acronyms since this was the first forum i had ever visited. i've met a few very, very cool people through nico that i would have never have met otherwise. hell, i pretty much doubled the amount of cross-country numbers on my phone thanks to nico. i really really hope that i can make it to a nicofest soon so that i can finally meet some more members in person and proceed with my diabolical plans...i've said too much...

I have been a die-hard nico-tic since my first noob post.

I'm on several other formus, but I don't even come close to having the affinity for them or their members as I do for Nico. I like to try to make people laugh, and even though that's pretty much the only value I add around here, it seems to be cool with people.

Every day I learn something new that some other niconaut thinks is old hat, and that knowledge saved me thousands of dollars during my 240SX build and has helped me take better care of my XTerra.

You folks are all awesome.

When I joined NICO I had already been working on cars for a long time. Up until 5 years ago almost everything I drove had a carb. I've been reading, learning, and helping where I can ever since.

I first joined NICO knowing next to nothing about the automotive world and having very very limited mechanical knowledge. In my time here, ive had great help in fixing and maintaining three 240sx's. Its amazing how easy NICO made it for someone with next to no mechanical experience tear down the top half of a KA to fix a bent valve and reassemble with no problems. All of the work had been done by myself all from resources obtained on this site. Thanks!

I wuv everyone here. Except Charlieo, but I think he recognizes that.

In all seriousness, it was really cool meeting the Hitman for the first time at the ViR event.. in 2006? Can't remember when the first GT-Live event happened.Very likeable person, and we chatted for quite a bit. I definitely walked away from that event with a good impression.

Unfortunately there aren't many NICO members in my area, but I've met a few in person from different states: Onizuka, Exarkun (Chet), and the late Paul Souder I got to meet several times. He even met my mom and helped me put t/c rods on my old S13!!

I remember we had to go to the hardware store to get something for a 'breaker bar' and some older guy commented on his t-shirt ( I think there was a turbo on it). The older guy started rattling off about having a car w. NOS and Paul jokingly replied: "bottles are for babies"

Exarkun aka. Chet.. has helped me a lot in setting up my S13's suspension for autocross and recommending me the best tires since he's in the business of selling Advans. He even stopped by the shop my bf works at and set them up to be Advan dealers, gave 'em some signs, t-shirts and brochures.

Onizuka aka Matt: I think he's the first NICO person I met at an autocross, we convoyed to the first drift event (Slide or Die) at Englishtown. I ran out of money for tolls (this is when I was college-poor) and he spotted me a few bucks so I could get home! (I still probably owe you huh?)

NICO is a different kind of forum and while a lot of the most knowledgeable people have moved on and left the forum I still stay for the camaraderie.

Rapidly approaching 7 years for me, 1.5ish as a mod. Only met a handful of you nutjobs back in '06 and haven't been able to make any events since, but I genuinely have to remind myself of that before I start talking about a "buddy who did the dumbest dang thing" to my friends. I end up backtracking and saying, "er, I mean, some guy posted it on my Nissan board..."

For realsies, I will make an event this year. Damn school.

This is one of the best forums out there. I'm a member of a few, but like I've mentioned many times before, its very well rounded and moderated here. There is a local forum that I mod, but man, they're a handful. Nothing like the fun and good times that happen here.

When I started, I had a failing headgasket, but didn't know what that meant. That same month (with the help of a few people on the board) I pulled and replaced my first engine in my first 240. The folks at the "other" forums couldn't be bothered to help me with anything constructive or useful and bashed me instead calling me a failure for getting into cars. I was 16, nearly 17. Way to get an automotive interest in people :rollseyes

Anyway, yes, much appreciation for this board. I've made some awesome friends who are, in some cases, better than friends I've known WAY longer and didn't meet on the internet. Still, the girl asks, "how did you meet so and so?" My reply, "the internet." her: "huh?!" Me: "not like that...."

I've crashed on NICO members' beds and couches (thank you Greg Bossie, Wes) and eaten a lot of free food (thanks Wes, Terry). Received cheap/free parts and mechanical assistance (Rob, Wes, many others).

And I've mooched beer off of nearly everyone.

Like others have said,im a member of a bunch of other forums but Nico is by far my favorite!

Its the only forum i get on every single day.I spend at least an hour a day on here, most of the time more then that.

Nico helped me get through my first engine swap ever.I couldnt have done it with out Nico.Ive learned soooooo much off this forum its crazy.

The few members i have met through Nico while selling parts have been hella cool and very easy to work with.

Although i havent made it to an event YET(there all around me) i fill like ive known some of you guys for a long time and ive come to trust your opinions in alot of things, whether it be cars, relationships,or any of that type stuff.lol

Any ways with all that being said,i hope to met some more of you guys in the future and i def. wont be going away from Nico anytime soon.
