The first night I logged into this forum, it was completely by chance. I had just found out that my one remaining Datsun 210 had been stolen with little hope of recovery. I googled 'datsun 210 for sale' and the number one site was a thread in NICO. The rest, shall we say, is history. 109 days and 2066 posts later, I am engaged to Greg and half the Learned'd thread is on my phone, e-mail, myspace, and facebook contacts/friends lists. I primarily stay in General Chat, but I love reading the other threads, even if I don't have anything substantial to post. (I have a 240 to help build, gotta edumacate myself somehow ) I have told all my friends here in TN about NICO so hopefully we will get some more traffic soon from them.
I can't wait to start going to all the nico meets and meeting everyone. It'll be an adventure putting a voice and a face to your avatars. Here's to rescuing old datsuns and returning them to their former glory, lifelong friendships, and the family we have created for ourselves which is NICO.
Wow.
As an aside, you guys are gonna be hearing a lot more from teh Bex over the next several years, as she'll be deeply involved in the business end of the forum management.
We'll be attending the meets together, and before long, hopefully dragging the kids along.
It is, and will always be, for as long as I draw breath, a family-owned and family-operated community with a focus on bringing people together based on a common interest.
I'm just so damn proud of what we've ALL collectively built here. From those of us with 40 jillion posts, down to the one-time visitor who pops in and posts a pic of their ride - We've created a community of good people and great friends.
