For me, I think it's the comeraderie of the gang here. I have met a handfull of members (mostly mods) at a couple get togethers I had in Galesburg, Illinois, and I can say this. We have some of the best members on any web forum on the net.

We have drunks running the place, though...is that a good thing?

By the way, I know it's a fair bit long in the future, but I am going to be home in Ill in summer of next year. You are all invited to a slammin BBQ at my folks house.

We welcome any and everyone to the house...just ask anyone else who has been there.

When you enter my parent's home, you aren't a guest...you are family.

To my current 5 years, and hopefully more serving all of you, NICO.

Cheers!

Before i joined nico, I was a drug addict, an alcoholic, a woman abuser and a pen15 hater. Since I joined my life has been even more of a mess... So whos going to HIN? I heard the good old nicoclub would be there.

I've met tons of awesome people on here. And on top of that, I've probably saved like $10,000+ doing my own work on cars solely from knowledge accumulated durring years of wasting time on nico.

I cant wait to meet some more of the Nico staff at carlisle (7 years on here and i've managed to only hang out with 3 moderators, and fred is gone).

NICO brought me from knowing absolutely nothing about cars, to building three of them on my own in a dirty garage with little money and a few great friends. I spent years on here writing about mine and reading about other people's exploits in the garage, and absolutely loved every minute of it.

I don't come by nearly as much as I used to, but when I do it is to remember what it was like for those few summers in and after college when my minimum wage job and the garage was all I really cared about. I still think about my turbo KA when I first drove it away from the dyno, and that crazy shaking feeling I got every time I drove it. I remember long hours in the garage getting covered in grease with cut up arms and a smile on my face. NICO gave me all of that.

Someday, maybe, when I "grow up" and establish myself professionally I hope to come back to the garage - and NICO - and pick up where I left off.

Get on some female-dominated forums and find the Nissan owners - BOOM.

Tell them James is here in the banana suit. That'll do it.

I was reading about it in the regional forums I think. Hopefully my coupe is safe enough to take a trip down there after I put the motor in. You guys should advertise it a little more though, I want to see alot of people from nico there! I'll wear a DGK shirt! Do you know if zilvia is going to be there? I say we have a fight of the forums...with guns...on our cars...I need some more coffee lol, just woke up.

Could you tell me what time it starts though? Me and a buddy are going to a function 7 (RX-7) meet then we're all probably going there. Should be a fun day, I'll probably be wasted.

Wow...I missed this thread

Nobody cares but I was introduced to NICO at a local meet and joined in early '02 (my join date is off a few months) as NICO member #2438. Soon, an X-Admin brought me on as Maxima moderator. In '05 I offered to help fix the homepage after the last dude was run out from it. Sometimes I wonder if I should have kept my mouth shut.

I was directed towards NICO by Dattebayo, and I've never quite forgiven him for it. Seven years and countless irretrievable hours later, I'm still here. I've also sold cars to like half our membership during that time, it seems...

If you live in DC/MD/VA, even if you didn't get it from me, there's a good chance that your 240 passed through my hands at some point, and I probably rubbed my wang on the steering wheel. Enjoy that musky aroma.

At least I was able to sell Jesda a car with ants in it, that still makes the whole thing worth it.

Additionally, I've yet to ever attend any sort of NICO event, or ever meet any member other than Dattebayo or Hannibal in person. I plan on dragging this out for as long as possible. YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME YOU MOTHERF**KERS!

found my way to NICO during my hunt for my first 240sx which was to be my first car. after 2 years of lurking 240gen i found out that other sections existed. so total is about 2.5 years.

having some really good laughs, learned a good deal about 240'sx (re-sold the first and currently without), and will continue to enjoy my stay here. Thanks NICO.

I think I joined nico when I was 13 or something. I was trying to look for information on my sister's 240 vert. At the time, I didn't know what a 240sx was, I didn't know what ka24, sr20, rb25, etc etc meant. I didn't know things like a 5 speed swap were possible. Hell, I didn't even know what a forum was. Well I was googling how to fix a rear window on a vert and I found the internet's only 240sx convertible forum. I made an account with krash14 as my sn (eventually changed to krash), and I've learned LOADS of information. Everything I know about Nissans and 240s, this forum is responsible for. Plain and simple. Also, talking with the older guys in the convertible forums really made me less of a toolbag kid. Surprisingly, member's in the vert forum actually played a role in making me who I am today. If it weren't for this forum, there is a good chance that I'd be driving an integra and street racing right now.

Thankfully my cars are Toyotas and they're from outside this region too.
