Yes, I clearly think that Subby is the only manufacturer of AWD vehicles. I was using it as an example. If you would like me to go through and name other vehicle manufacturers that use a predominantly front split of the power, then by all means...

Mitsubishi's Lancer Evolution's AWD system is set mostly fwd from factory. The Pontiac Vibe's AWD system is predominantly fwd as well.

These systems are set up like that to make the cars easier to drive, and safer in inclimate weather.

Its understandable that you dont want to accept our argument on the subject matter. They say ignorance is bliss, and you are proof of this logic. :)

im Sorry Alfy but I have to disagree.

i was once like this, i laughed when i saw an accord try drifting.... well guess what they are supporting the events and are out there...

So waht if the car isnt a "RWD" an option video showed a EF drifting.... yes it was drifting... and it was catching mutltiple turns... waht vol it was... that i forgot...

as for domestics.... thats also the same... they are acknowleding something that is different from going straight lines....

i dont know if you watch any rally, but there are some mustangs on SCCA that are rallying....

A car is a car.... if you are enthusiast of the sport more power to you... you cannot knock them down because there car isnt meant to drift.... hell Civics arent made to drag but they are... and are pretty good at it....

When you saw that mustang tried to drift he was jsut trying to support the event....

Also I think i read something about an APC from someone...

SO waht if APC will soon sponsor it fi they do then thats great.... that means more events will be held and that no one will try it at mountains and get in accidents....

ill try to read the rest of the odd 5 pages and respond....

Hey Mickee, I understand what you're saying. But you know, I just associate APC with riceboys and altezzas and stuff like that - you know. I guess I just really like the Japanese drifting scene and I wish ours would become one more like theirs but I don't think its happening. I just have an eternal grudge against riceboys =]

No need for name calling....

Alfy, I understand that, but the drifting "scene" here is far from you can imagine....

The difference with the drifting in Japan is they actually have circuits that accomodate there passion, which we lack of.

Besides the circuit there are numerous mountains and countryside that "drifters" often visit and these places are 100% deserted because there are no lights and are only reflectors.

Visit japan and see all the battle scars that are on the dividers, trees tha have been damage, speed bumps that have been dismantled because of this sport. There are many bumpers lying around each corner.

Your personal vendetta against riceboy is useless, do you think US are the only one with RICE??? the majority of RICE are japanese... and they can careless about there cars.. They would rather driver luxury car such as Celcior no one cares about Skylines and NSX.... those are the minority.... and most place stickers and take loans to put outrageous bodykits....

Trust me ive experience the "drifting scene" in japan firsthand.... go for a visit and see how much rice is in japan...

Yes ignorance is bliss, Iam sorry I dont think Iam proof of that logic, but you missy, lets take a look.

We will start with porsche:http://www.carpages.co.uk/pors...2.aspCarrera 4 - Minimun of 5% and Max of 40% to front wheels. That means A MIN of 60% of the power will be at the REAR WHEELS. Seems like more RWD power there.

http://www.911turbo.com/turboc...9.php959 - 40% front 60% rear, changed to 50 | 50 on slippery roads. You can read all about its AWD system. Again!

Iam sure all porsches with AWD have that system, more power to the rear then front. Thank You!!

Even your Scooby. Lets look at the STI!!

http://press.jbskyline.net/R33/R33EVO22B/Subuaru STI -Front-to-rear 35:65(unlocked) hmmmm.... Didn't like what they said about the skyline though.

Even our very own skyline:http://www.jbskyline.net/R32/GTR/index2.php#attesaThe ATTESA-ETS AWD drivetrain:"In standard setup, ATTESA-ETS distributes the torque to the rear-wheels, but when slip is detected on one of those rear-wheels, it can distribute up to 50% of the torque to the front wheels, i.e. it can adjust the front/rear torque-split fromanything between 0:100 to 50:50."

What do you know, it only will distribute upto 50% of the power to the front. But starts as RWD, omg!!!!

Now why in the WORLD would they do that?? Could it be that thing called weight transfer, ya know, when you punch it and all the weight goes to the back!!! Maybe, but Iam sure you already knew that. Ok, honey, next time a conversation comes up and you want to jump on the bandwagon against me, do some research ;)Do I still look like the ignorant, intolerant dip****? :pface

Once again, everyone is right and wrong at the same time! There are FWD leaning AWD systems and RWD leaning AWD systems and just plain 50:50 AWD systems.

Funny how that works :thinker

Well In Japan it is a sport and I have been looking at a few magazines I got, Drift tengoku and battle magazine and I did not find any FF. cars that were competing, I have seen some (like3) features on cars that were FF. doing it for fun.

Is a FF. car a good car to drift?

Who gives a dam... If you can send it side ways and make it look good (and not spin out) Rock on, And if you cant get out the way. Same goes for the kid in moms 14!

Would I give up ODF for a FF. car to drift... NOI have pulled the E brake on a FF. car and to me it did not feel the same as it did in my car. I like my car and my set up.All I need to do is swap in a fresh engine and get back into it.

It will be a sport some day, it's only a matter of time, money, and interest.

Of course it's hard for AZ to see that... he's getting old, and crusty, and senile, etc etc...

FrEaK, don't make me destroy you... :D

Seems everyone here weighing in on the AWD topic has forgotten Audi and American Motors Corporation (remember the Eagle?)...

Sorry I missed your response toki - I spent 5 years in Tucson and kind of like it... I get down there from time to time to visit the in-laws. Look me up next time you're in Phoenix.

I remember that and the wonderous Gremlin. You know they made some of those witha 5.0 liter v-8 in them called the scramlbers. Sorry off topic, but it's harder and harder to find people who actually know AMC existed.

The Porsche SUV is called the Cayenne.

Its sister car, built on the same platform, is the Tuareg (stupid name) by VW.

Now quit fighting with Laurel or I'm gonna take one of you out back. :D

I know about the AMC my dad has always been a fan of them. he has a mandarin 1970 AMX 390 w/401 crank and a 4 speed such a sweet car.

On the subject of drifting being popular just get really good at it then you will have lots of people who look up to you and they be like damn i wish i was that cool. maybe they will be inspired to try it themselves in a competitive sence. eh?

"No doubt our stories on drifting front-wheel drive and American cars will cause some fans to howl, but we wouldn't have it any other way." thought i might throw this up. I find it to be quite amuzing. They are saying we don't care what you think bout FF and domestic drifting we are gonna do it anyways.
