worked on the pulleys and belt routing yesterday, but it won't work as I have it designed. Time for revision #2. I will design up the intercooler kit also this week, I hope. I had planned to too big of an intercooler. Have to revise the size before I get it set up. It's comin together piece by piece...

have you ever looked into the IMPUL supercharger? it is a twin-screw type. they made it specifically for the 1.6, but they say it should fit the 1.8 too. I was wondering if it would be easier to build a SC based on the one by IMPUL. theirs look pretty neat. I am trying to buy it, but they haven't replied my e-mail. Here is the link to their website and a link for 2 pictures of a versa with it.

yep, looked at them in Japan. I like them, but they have yet to prove to me the 1.6L kit fits the 1.8L engine. For the price of their ECU + S/C kit, I can buy two of the USA kits we are helping Kraftwerks design. And their ECUs will not pass US smog tests, BTW.

Update! Heading out to Oscar’s shop Saturday morning with the MR18 complete motor that we’ll put on an engine stand and my Versa to see how everything that Canaan has been hard at work figuring out...pulley/routing locations plus some other ideas we have been working on.
In the mean time I’ve been working on suppliers to put the kit together...slow process but coming together....just trying to keep costs low and quality high.
Oscar has been working on an even better controller for the systems and so far it’s testing out better then his present controller so when this kit is finally available it will be all the latest technology and not “old school” like the Impul or other's setup.
And I can’t say this enough...there will be no need for any extra tuning etc. after the kit is installed....it will be set up so that it’s plug and play and giving you the most out of your car legally so save your money. Put the money towards the handling/stopping of the car. (see above about controller)
The initial kit will fit all the Nissan MR series motors and at a later date we will be working on the HR16 series since it will be a little more complicated to do...but we’ll figure it out.
After this weekend everybody will be getting ready for SEMA so the next few weeks it will be a little quiet so don’t worry.
I can’t thank Oscar and Canaan enough for all the help there giving the Cube/Versa/Sentra community along with a few other Nissan guys that are helping in the background...a big thumbs up! :dblthumb:

About $3k USD.

Nothing going on it right now. Kraftwerks has a few cars to work on right now and hasn't had time to work on the kit. SEMA is right around the corner, so they are swamped with work.

Well first thing, is i just leaked in my pants a little bit. I love speed and for the Versa to be having a supercharger kit added to it is just omnipotent. Promise Land and Versaspeed. You have just made my life worth living. I am so excited. I was so afraid to put money into the Versa for just cosmetic reasons and not under the hood because i didn't just want a pretty car, but a quick one to. Don"t get me wrong, more than half these Versas are beautiful. But i haven't seen any huge HP gain anywhere and Ive been looking for ever. I will be a happy buyer.

We got a little behind in development due to some other projects that came up. They are still working on it and it shouldn't be too much longer.

Versaspeed is working on a worked MR20 with S/C, so his should be freakin' ridiculous.

I really want the super charger as motor swaps are alot of time and work. I will have versa long term even as a second car down the road.

First, hope everybody had a great Holiday Season and Happy New Year!

Sorry I haven’t kept everyone up to date but I picked a wrong time of the year to start the project and it’s definitely taken longer then I originally thought. These guys have/had been busy prepping for the SEMA Show and the beginning of the Racing Season plus the Holidays thrown in for good measure and just not a whole lot of quality time to be had putting into it....but that doesn’t mean I/we have not been in touch and throwing ideas around or been thinking about it...it will happen and as originally planned so hang in there. And that goes for the header system AND a short shifter for you guys with six speeds....don’t forget we have a car that still has little to no support and it’s like pulling teeth to get things thru the system.

While I’ve been waiting for everything to calm down a little with those guys I’ve been working on converting a MR18 into a MR20, blueprinting and will get balanced before assy.. The MR series of Engines are pretty amazing with not much to really do to it...the ports in the head are really nicely designed and in no need of any modification and the block looks like it’s been polished so a really nice piece.

The difference between the motors are pretty basic...cams are more aggressive in the 20 and the crank and pistons are different resulting in the increase in HP/TQ everything else is the same so three things make the difference between the two motors....and no modifications are need to change any of these items. This is an easy swap and a only a good day project and worth the upgrade....just think 20 more HP/TQ and a car that is a good 200 ponds lighter then the Sentra.....add the Supercharger.....well..you get the picture.

Also Jim Wolf Racing has been playing around with the MR series so it will be interesting to see if anything happens there..I'm staying in touch with them also.

Don’t worry if you don’t hear from me at times...doesn’t mean I’m slacking...just means I’m working on projects (Versa-Cube-Juke and others) and pretty focused on the situation...I’m always an email away.

Hoping to pick up the Rotrex S/C this weekend and start fabbing up the bracket for it. We have the location roughed out and all the pulleys. Hoping to have the kit ready for tax season so everyone can spend their refunds in one place.
