this thread fails.

everyone starts off by saying what they would do to prevent theives, and then everyones productive conversation gets ruined by those saying:

"doesnt matter what you do, if they want it bad enough, theyll take it."

"if theyve got a roll back, doesnt matter if it even has wheels, theyll crank it up and away they go"

theres no point. we're all destined to have our cars stolen by professional car theives.

DAMN YOU NICHOLAS CAGE.

some of the stuff mentioned would stop NORMAL car theives, so this thread may have helped someone out with an idea of how to lessen the chances of their car getting stolen.

the only reason why i brought up the tow truck is because there have been alot of junkyards getting busted for buying stolen cars and tow truck drivers were the ones bringing them in because they know they could get big money for certain cars, like honda civics, and alot of different GM products, and these guys werent "profesional car theives" they were just normal tow truck drivers that needed some extra cash

still pretty wack though.

luckily, i always tend to park my car where i can see it through store/restaurant windows. that should lessen my chances of gettin' it theived.

I had my 240 parked in a parking lot for around a 2yr's and when i came to move it, someone wrote there number saying they wanted to buy it, so i moved it to my aunts house it spent another 5 months there and supposable someone broke in but couldn't take it. The tires were flat and the battery was dead

^ that would just lift up your front end so a tow truck could come jack your chassis when youre not looking.

I'm glad some people think like that. The easier their car is to steal, the less likely mine is to get stolen. You can always do a basic alarm and a GPS tracker. GPS tracker>tow truck.

see?

just make your car look undesirable if youre in an area where theres risk of your car getting stolen.

if it doesnt look good enough to steal, chances are it wont get stolen.

when i bought my old tegra the guy had it wired so you had to have the seat belt buckled or it would just crank and never start. doubt any thief is gonna be too worried about buckling up haha

Nice idea, but in a 240 I'd wire that up to the rear seat belts. No way in hell is someone going to figure that out.

I live in the boondocks but the nearest city is a bunch of civic ricers. All I need is a custom gun rack... an empty one. That way they know the gun is somewhere close, and I have it. I was leaving the mall once and heard my alarm chirp and there was a kid looking at my car, he scurried as soon as he saw me and I know why... everyone around here knows the only reason a smith and wesson sticker would be on a car

ignition cut off, fuel cut off, lojack and if that doesn't seem like enough....install a system that gives the person a shock when they try to break in. :-)

i take my ignitor chip out and unplug my battery eveynight. and for some reason i will always have to tap on the 3 fuses in the fuse box next to the coolant resovior before i can start up my car. i think however tries to steal my car would have some trouble. not to mention my 30-06 sniper deer rifle bullets through their head from my window. =DDD

^ LOL...yeah, but im sure people wouldnt want to die in 240sx not driving or drifting in it. in texas, you also have the right to shoot someone who enters into your property with intent of burglary too. =DD

My theft deturent is that you CANNOT START MY CAR!!

Lol. Go Ahead, try hot wiring it, or infact, find the hide a key, it still won't start. It won't even turn over unless you figure out how to touch the hot wire and ground wire on the starter together with the key on.... LMAO.

kinda like how my friends s13 was, except you could start it but the transmission was so messed up it was very hard to drive. the car was stolen in a parking lot but the thief couldnt get out of 1st so it stalled and he bailed
