Hey don't forget the two in the front also while you're at it.
Considering the noise and sight of a tow truck, if someone was going to steal your car with one, they would more than likely use something comparable to a repo rig such as an eagle claw. My old brother repossesses with one of these and it takes about 20 seconds to hook a car and roll under ideal circumstances. They don't even have to get out of the cab to use it. They just back up to the front of your car with it extended, it swivels around the tires and locks, and they raise it a foot or so with a hydraulic ram. You'd be amazed at how far you can drag a car with the ebrake on. Besides they make dollys that can go around the tire and jack it off the ground to roll on.
Those tow loops are just there to make it easier to strap the car down on a rollback flatbed style tow truck. There are still many spots underneath to attach whatever straps you want to pull, tow, lift, etc. But really all you're doing by cutting those loops is making it a pain for the tow guy if you ever need one.
Then again, +2 for WEIGHT REDUCTION!!!
