The Service Engine Light....continued later, daughter just walked in.....Ok, had to take it in because of the light. They gave me a 2008 EX35 loaner that was dirty inside, reeked of smoke, and had a dead telescopic steering wheel. They didn't give me any crap about me changing my own oil this time!! I'm taking this as a good sign that the new management is an improvement.

Anyway, this is the second time it's been in to the dealer to be fixed......and only has 32k miles......Hate to say it, but so far, had better luck with my furds at this mile marker.....

Whu whoa. What's going on with it? Hope it's ok.

Fords really aren't all that bad. My family has been a Ford family for more years than I am alive. I was the first to move away from Ford.

Fords are fine because they're built like tractors.Family has had a few of them, last one being an Aerostar. Dad certainly got his money's worth out of that van!I just hate the parts-bin interiors. I know things are improving, but not to the point where I'd want one...except for a Shelby GT-500....or the Ford GT (the SEXIEST car design ever IMO)

I've had nothing but great experiences with both my G Coupe and my dealership...so far

Instead of giving ya crap...they gave you that loaner...

Hope it's an easy inexpensive fix.

My family has had a bit of everything in the auto world. A ford ranger, which aside from a miserably weak engine and transmission, and the hotwheels quality interior, was a decent truck. No where near as good as the indestructible Nissan Hardbody. We've had a GM SUV, wont say which, but like most newer american vehicles, good for a year before problems start to plague it. We've had a BMW 325, which was a good drive, but had enough electrical issues to cause a psychotic attack on an engineer. We've had a chevy car, which like the suv and ford truck, horrible interior, ran fine for 4 months before big problems, 4 more months of fun, more problems, etc. We've had an isuzu rodeo base model. very very base. two way adjustable seats base. 20watt 4speaker sound system base. Aside from a cheap built truck, never any problems. But there was nothing on it that could give problems. It had nothing. not even cupholders. I'm giving you guys an automotive biography sorry. I'll stop now.

That sucks man. What was the code that your sedan was kicking?

At least you get the car fixed under warranty. The only thing I can think of is that its your wife's car, right? That explains a lot...

LOL

LOL You guys are mean.

If she keeps braking the car down. Next time just take it to the dealer and the way home buy a sewing machine. Go home and tell her you traded in the G for a more appropiate machinery. LOL Just kidding. I don't want you to have a huge pain in your back sleeping on the lounge with the dogs for a long time.

Rich sorry to hear your trouble. That is unsual. My 2 Infiniti's had just over 35k and only issue I had is the grill and the little triangle window at the back door needed to be replaced to fix the wind noise. I hope you get your car back soon.

FURD builds good cars. No question about it. That's why my wifie keps going back to them for a new one. But again on those cars lot less can go wrong since lot less things they have.

Go FURD. Right Telco?

All you Ford fanboys

I never once had a good experience in a furd, except the 89 cobra 5.0 I wanted to buy... and the 10 cyl triton truck I drove through town one day...

I only shop in Japan for my autos now, specifically Nissan Infiniti, but I'm learning that even the indestructable KA24 and Vq35 have ther weaknesses.

SVT, I hope that you get the problem solved without any issues... Good luck!

Thanks guys! Glad the wifie isn't a member here!!!

Zozo, she already has a nice sewing machine, surger, and embroidery machine all in her sewing room!!! When we picked up her embroidery machine from the store after being serviced, she pointed out the one she would like to have next.....$12K !!!! I had best shut up....the other day, she noticed me drooling on a new 18V Lithium-Ion batt. Milwaukee hammer drill/driver at Home Depot and went back later to get it for me!

Problem with the sedan was the intaking timing silly-noyd (covered under warranty).I hope it is not as common as the cam position sensor going bad in the in the pathy's!!!

They told me my belts were cracked and could replace them for $189....Stopped by Nissan and got them for $35....Last time, when I did the belts on the Maxima, I told the wifie that I SAVED about $120 doing it myself, so I spent my SAVED money on a new Kobalt 3/8 inch torque wrench...Have a 1/2 inch wrench already, BUT,Tools are like fishing rods, you can not have too many!!!

Thats how I justify things to my wife...

Well, see the parts normally cost this much, but I got them for this...and install is X amount and that was just time and pain for me. Works out well.

I agree, you can never have too many tools. Just toys for bigger kids...

Rich glad your G is back to the business. I know your wife has one sewing machine. Sinve your garage turned into a sewing room.

Agree about the tools. I actually decided to do all the maint. myself on the G from now on. But my wife is the one who always tells me to by the proper tools to get the job done. I am sometimes cheap and try to fabricate something to get it go(Mickey Mouse). LOL I actually lucky enough to get backpaid all the spending on tools by my company.

Geez, that car is spitting out codes faster than a For....woops!

Haha just kidding - my family used to be a big Ford/GM family. Only fords that we didnt like we taurus' - everyone we've ever had sucked. The focus is doing quite nicely, minus a small thing where the temp housing cracked and leaked all over - all covered under warranty.

I got one as a loaner a couple of weeks ago. My wife owns a Versa, so here was my impression. Less road feel, small storage area, and high fuel use and all of this was in comparison with the Versa. Had more power of course but compared to the 'G' disappointing. All in all compared to the Versa, I would take the Versa easily and with the money save buy a second car for a conceptional project.

Update on the Sedan.

Got a phone mail at 6PM yesterday saying they were waiting on a call back from the Infiniti Tech Line....

Got a phone call today at 6PM.The advisor said the tech wanted to change my oil with a heavier weight. I had to REALLY stop from going postal on the advisor, so I calmly 'advised' her to just replace the engine instead.

They said that the light was off, but the code was still in memory indicating a problem with the intake valve timing control for bank 1. Same code as before.

So, she tells me that one of the tech's may need to drive it for a while... There is no problem with the way it drives.

So, then she says that since I didn't get my service there they didn't know what 'was put in it'.... Pick up the F'ing phone you F$#@*A*&clown!!!!!

So, I calmly told her what I 'put in there' and told her to have the 'teck' call me in the AM......

So, another day with the loaner cause they can't figure out how to turn off the light...

So far, this car has given me more troubles than ANY previous Furd or Nissan/Infiniti at this mileage (32K)..... Not to mention the snotty attitude of the Infiniti personnel because I do my own service.

Next time they call, have your son wailing on the guitar and tell them you can't figure out how to turn it down and you'll put a blanket over it to see if that helps. Then when they get an attitude about that, tell them that's what they proposed to you on how to fix your car.

Exactly!!!

And, my son is in a scream-o band, but also in a smooth jazz band and HS jazz band. He's going to a classical guitar festival this weekend at ASU with his guitar instructor (who is working on his masters) this weekend. Sorry, you know I can't shut up about my kids!

You should have a custom title!

G? Where are you??

Was hoping some of the Infiniti Tech's here would chime in as to what they thought the problem was.

I guess I must be one of the few that cant believe the way that turned out. Sometimes people don't understand others points of view and they take it the wrong way.

Jacko (John) I think is a University Professor in The Miami Dade area of Florida. He has a Ph-D and is very smart.

I being only 23 have learned a lot from people that have more wisdom than I, as well as age. If some of the people took time and tired to understand the logic behind what others are saying this world would be a much better place.

Like my 78 year old Barber told me 6 months ago about the election. He said to me "DJ, I lived in the depression and I know what it is to see people hungry. I hope you never have to live that. And if it happens again I hope that I am not here when it does happen. Their is nothing like seeing people hungry. Forget about money, but these people would work all day for food to feed their family! I hope that you never have to understand what that means! And as far as the election goes. I hope which ever way the election goes that we get someone that will not run this country right into the ground. To many lives have been lost for our freedom to give the reigns to one man and have him destroy it over night."

Something as simple as that can teach someone a lot of value. I think that is what most people on Nico were missing about Jacko. No one wanted to take value in to what he was saying!

Rich sorry for the Jack!

Because they didn't know him. But here on G forum I think there is a different story. Not sure if you got any emails from the members when it happened but I sure did get some from the boys here on the G forum and all were pissy and if you look at it lots of people slowed down with posting here. Back to the thread.

Rich push them to give you a new engine if they can't fix it. They pssiy you don't take your car there. Well when you tae it there they can't fix it. So why would you bring your money there.
