every once in a while a mystery issue pops up. It happens, as a customer, I know its difficult. But you can't lose your head. Anger and hate will only worsen the issue. Rich I do see that its taking longer. At my dealer its usually a 3 day thing. Day one the motor gets swapped. Day 2 everything gets revised, and day 3 the car is cleared to return home. You go to lake norman? thats my dream spot. I'm moving to NC at the end of the year or next year (at least I plan to) and I'm going to try to get into Norman.

Oh I know you techs are only humans... We all get stumped every once in a while

But it is like going to the doctor and you fell and have a broken arm... The doctor looks at your x-ray and says... you know what... i think we I put a band aid right there you should be all good to go... Oh and feel free to come back if you have any pain or discomfort after a few days

You would be pretty pissed right??? of course i am exaggerating to make a point but you get the picture

um.. absolutely. Like going to a restaurant and telling the waiter that there is a fly in your soup, and he dunks your face into the bowl, drags you outside, and washes your car while you incoherently flail your arms around your face looking for something to soothe the burning of hot soup, only to be arrested and put on trial for assaulting an animal because it landed in your soup. what? how does that NOT make sense? you guys are weird. Oh and Tech line is very unusual. yes they work 9 to 3 with a 5 hour lunch period beginning with the first phone call and ending with the last. Well its not that bad but it sux. I wonder whats going on anyway... havent read the post. ..hey sean...CANADA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...edded

Sorry for opening 2, but I wanted the other to be more about deals on G37'sand other advice regarding trading.

I did talk to the head service adviser yesterday. They were waiting on a new timing chain cover from CA.

They were hoping to have it put back together today replacing anything hydraulic (oil related) on the engine including the var. cam sprockets.

Then, Corporate advised the dealership to put about 300 miles on the car before giving it back. I discussed this at length with the head adviser and agreed to let him put the miles on the car. The wife talks to his wife almost everyday at BOA and the guy has been very nice and professional.Part of the discussion included me requesting an extention of warranty or compensation for lost time/mileage. He has pass the request on to Corporate.

Sooo, that's where we are. And, looking at other cars as mentioned in the other thread.

I agree on the extended service plan idea... I wouldn't be particularly concerned about those parts being off of the car as long as you have some warranty time left to make sure everything is torqued down correctly. Sure seems like they're just throwing parts at a problem they don't understand

To be honest, I think it just sat there for days!!!

I did stop by yesterday to talk to the adviser. They did hear back from corporate and have decided to send me a check for 1 month's car payment. So, I'm satisfied with that decision. Still not happy with my engine being cracked open twice in 32K miles.. (once for the tensioner and now)

They did tell me that they would be replacing the gaskets in the spark plug chambers???? I thought that the whole covers would have to be replaced, but they said the covers that I had, they didn't.

Anybody know about this??

White hmmmm...

At least somewhat they try to satisfy you as a costumer with the check. However it sound like they are really have no clue what they do.

Rich I admire your cool. I'd freaking for sure.

Update.IT'S ALIVE!!!! They've got her back together and the service adviser was pulling out this PM!! He will be driving it several days to get about 200 miles on it. They've got a diagnostic tool (didn't ask what) hooked up to her while he is putting on the miles.HOPEFULLY, we will have her back before the weekend.....if we are not in a new G37..... (and, yes, I've been pre-approved for 5.4 for a LONG time!)

Finally had enough. Told the adviser (nice guy) it was time for me to have my car back! They sent a valet out with it and put the needed miles on it, cleaned it up and I picked it up around 6PM.

Still considering a new G37.....they said they could get me a white/stone with prem. like the wife wants, but now that she has her car back I'm not too sure she cares. Plus, they've pizzed her off a bit. We'll see......

The bad taste that Infiniti of Lake Norman's service department left in my mouth has been replaced with the bad taste that Infiniti of Lake Norman's sales department left.....

SundayThey gave me a great deal, but they had told me that they could get me a low firm interest rate. After deciding to do the deal late in the day, I asked for the rate I would be getting. They bring back a number 1.5 points higher than my credit union. THey wanted me to sign the paper work with that rate and if I could get better the next day, that was fine.Sorry, I don't sign anything until I know what the rate is and the monthly payment. So, I tell them that I will get pre-approved at my credit union in the morning.

Then, I find myself trying to get out of the door with 4 or 5 salemen/managers all talking to me at once. 'This deal is only good today! The $2k goes away after today!'At this point, I'm out of there regardless cause they are starting to really pi$$ me off.

So, Monday comes around and I get approved at a great rate thru the credit union. Call them up and the $2K is still available, but the car is gone.

Picked up my car yesterday. Talked to another saleman that says he can get the color the wife wants thru another dealer, no problem! But, due to another month passing and a new black book figure, my trade lost $500. Left again.

Called back today and asked to split the difference on the white one that they could get. Was told that he thought he could do it if I were there.Drove up to the dealer to pull the trigger.

Then, they tell me that they thought my trade was an 06!! They tell me that my trade is worth additional $1k less!!!

Yes, I was starting to really get I told them that I wanted an appointment to see the owner. I had had enough BS.

Then, they tell me that they called the owner and he is going to add the $1k back because it was due to their mistake. But, no free tint.

All this time I keep calling my wife to keep her informed. She is like

But, since it is still a good deal, I try to calm her down and I know she would like the white one.

Finally, I just could not do it. I really don't think they could sweeten the deal back up again to get me to buy a car from that dealership!

Yes, I took more S*** than most of you guys would, but I was trying to get the wife what I thought she wanted.

So, if your next purchase is from Lake Norman Infiniti, then good luck and be prepared for some not so fun games!!!

Has anybody else had similiar experiences??

WOW!!

They should be embarrased.

Did they think this was your first car purchase??

You see... it morons like that who try to make a quick buck all at once, they don't think ahead that "hmmm...maybe Mr customer will upgrade in the future or refer people to me" thus becoming a "customer for life"

Guys like that are rats. They will NEVER truly be successful in sales.

I'm glad to hear you walked away, they don't deserve your business.

So now what Rich?

Rich I admire how much sh_t you can put up with. I would of walked away at the first stupid sign. I usually go and look around to see who I would deal with. Also after the first minute I tell them straight I don't like BS and if I smell it I'll leave and never come back.

The way I dress (like a bum) sometimes(well most of the times according to my wife LOL) Some places they don't even come and ask what I want.Nobody thinks I have amoney to buy a hotdog. LOL Which is good. I get time to look around without anybody is in my Arse talking to me or asking damb questions.

You should start online. Get some quotes from nearst dealers and when they give you a good deal walk in there place and negotiate from that point.

So far, the light has not come back on! (KNOCK KNOCK!) So, it's nice to have it back.

I do have it listed on Craigslist and if it sells we will buy a G37 from Modern Infiniti. Management/ownership has changed sooo many times at Lake Norman Infiniti, you never know what to expect. I had high hopes on this new crew out of Scottsdale Arizona, but they totally treated me like dirt!!!! I have NEVER been treated worse by a dealership EVER!!And, ZOZO, the only reason I stuck it out was because they found a white one and I had the wife on the phone trying to calm her down to get her the one she wanted.

The sales manager's in the 'tower' gave me SO much attitude!!!!

OK, time to calm down......It's Saturday night, cooked up some Eastern Style BBQ and got some cold beers!!!

I am starting to feel the same way. My car was towed in due to it not being able to start (2008). This was on Friday. They haven't looked at it yet because the service tech assigned to it is off until tomorrow.
