Verizon doesnt serve black folks in Indiana. Hence the reason I haz Sprint. Its like the Droid and the iPhone in one from messing with one.....the video on it is awesome and it has two cameras, one of which can be used for video conferencing. Or making POV pronz for others to see....

sucka

ooh, I like. It is touch screen only, no? I really don't like touch screen keyboards, so I got a Samsung Moment. I really like it but the system runs a little slow sometimes and the battery is fairly poor, but that may have to do with the fact that my service is very spotty and I'm going in and out of service a lot.

I heard outside of Youtube the "HDMI" dongle when used to output video to a tv looks like crap. Only bad thing I have heard.

Also carriers are charging more for the ability to use the phone as a router so you can connect 4 wireless devices to it, but the community already has hacks that allow you to use it without paying for the feature. The phone is going to be beast!

Um...no.
The Galaxy is VERY low-end. You'd have to look pretty hard to find a crappier android-powered phone.

The Evo, on the other hand, is as high-end as you can get.

A new Galaxy came out this week, but its for Europe:

"As a reminder, the Galaxy S is powered by Android 2.1 and features a blazing fast 1GHz processor. The four-inch super AMOLED display, which is by far the sharpest I've seen on a smartphone to date, makes other devices looked washed out in comparison. "

I'm in a toss up between the incredible and the Evo. I think the evo is too big, but the incredible doesn't support LTE to my knowledge (verizon's 4G). Everything I've read about the Evo has been good though

hey ryan, 2009 wants its top end phone back. i heard current android devices are 10x faster and better in every single possible technical category :chuckle:

@ Rish
as someone who just went from an iphone to android... do it. android is far superior to the iphone OS atm (aka the only real competive smartphone OS, BB users, ya'll just a bunch of physical keyboard BBM cult koolaid drinkers :lolling: )

that being said, the EVO is an awesome device. If sprint has good coverage around you i'd say go for it. otherwise, this is a debate amongst carriers. in which case, you should jump on a sister ( :chuckle: ) device like the incredible(VZW), N1(Tmo), or one of the new moto's coming out for verizon in the near future.

And to be perfectly honest, i'm pretty fresh on this info considering i just invested in an unlocked N1, most of these newer (within the last 4 months or so) devices rock a 1ghz snapdragon processor, .5gb ram, a sweet high res display, and LOTS of other cool features. So the only thing that should really be making the decision for you is the size and feel of the device.

the EVO is too big for my taste. same with the Tmo HD2 (even tho thats a Wmo device, its got comparable hardware etc).

another thing that goes along with the feel of the device (talking about android here) is wether it has the SENSE UI or not. the EVO does. All this means, is when google releases OS updates, HTC has to port their sense UI over to support the new backend. (example: new android 2.2 just came out, i have it on my N1 alrdy, since it has no sense UI, but its not going to be available as a backend for the incredible or EVO until the second half of this year.)

WALL OF NERD TEXT CRITS YOU FOR OVER 9000!!!!!!!!

Yeah seriously, why are people addicted to BBM?

I have heard COUNTLESS people debate BB with other phones and it always comes down to Email and BBM.

My head usually explodes at that point.

bbm is just aim for elitist bb users. but seriously, bb is more geared towards people who use it for business purposes. i like mine, but i'll be looking for something different next year, something more recreational use friendly.

EVO 4g is coming out tomorrow, i cant wait supposed to be a great phone especially with the 3-6 Mbps download data speeds video chat is now actually possible.. sprints rolling out their 4g network to most major city's http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/06/ ... us+Report) for $10 a month for unlimited data its a good deal.

p.s i have the N1 with tmoible (s*** service) great phone and what not but i accidentally BRICKED my N1 trying to install FROYO 2.2  so the EVO is the next best thing + senses UI is very nice
