I'm a HUUUGE fan of the Punisher series, both old and new. But the X-Men and Lady Death follow close behind. I actually have the Chaos symbol from the Lady Death/Evil Ernie series' tattoo'd on my right bicep and would like to get the Punisher Skull on my left forearm and Cremator on my left bicep. Yeah I'm one of those guys. I was actually looking at getting all the glyph's from the Legacy of Kain games inked onto my chest in a star pattern. Sorry never was a fan of Batman, Superman or any of the other DC legacy's. Stan Lee is my hero.

hey ryan, 2009 wants its top end phone back. i heard current android devices are 10x faster and better in every single possible technical category :chuckle:

@ Rish
as someone who just went from an iphone to android... do it. android is far superior to the iphone OS atm (aka the only real competive smartphone OS, BB users, ya'll just a bunch of physical keyboard BBM cult koolaid drinkers :lolling: )

that being said, the EVO is an awesome device. If sprint has good coverage around you i'd say go for it. otherwise, this is a debate amongst carriers. in which case, you should jump on a sister ( :chuckle: ) device like the incredible(VZW), N1(Tmo), or one of the new moto's coming out for verizon in the near future.

And to be perfectly honest, i'm pretty fresh on this info considering i just invested in an unlocked N1, most of these newer (within the last 4 months or so) devices rock a 1ghz snapdragon processor, .5gb ram, a sweet high res display, and LOTS of other cool features. So the only thing that should really be making the decision for you is the size and feel of the device.

the EVO is too big for my taste. same with the Tmo HD2 (even tho thats a Wmo device, its got comparable hardware etc).

another thing that goes along with the feel of the device (talking about android here) is wether it has the SENSE UI or not. the EVO does. All this means, is when google releases OS updates, HTC has to port their sense UI over to support the new backend. (example: new android 2.2 just came out, i have it on my N1 alrdy, since it has no sense UI, but its not going to be available as a backend for the incredible or EVO until the second half of this year.)

WALL OF NERD TEXT CRITS YOU FOR OVER 9000!!!!!!!!
at first i understood this then it became a diff language.....i hate computer talk

I just want the iphone to come out for verizon damnit....or i mite just get the droid ....

Sprint blows by me so i hate them here prob y i shouldnt have posted my pointless coments here lol

As far as HTC phones having to be rebooted, that is pure crap. I've shut mine off twice since I got it (once when I let the battery die and the second when I updated to Android 2.1), and I use the ever loving crap out of my phone. My only major complaint is that the damn thing can never find my location without me resetting the location settings, and forget trying to use the GPS function, it doesn't work, which sucks because I travel locally a ton for work and trying to find a business or a house for me to go for my installs/service is impossible.

What is this Googletalk that you all speak of? If it's anything like a free version of Skype then I'm all about that, so please someone send me a googletalk invite.
I just bought the Hero last night for $15 at Radio Shack. I hate it. Its too slow to handle the OS and I despise waiting for the onscreen keyboard to popup so I can enter information. I got better at typing on the virtual keyboard and the predictive text helps, but its still an impediment when churning out emails to customers. Dolphin browser is pretty impressive though. I finally got everything to sync with OS X after searching for a while, installing some third-party apps, and doing a few workarounds.

Its an amazing little gadget that seems to be capable of doing anything, but even with HTC's SenseUI its not polished like the iPhone or productivity-oriented like the Blackberry. Sadly, this means I have to exchange it for a much more expensive $120 BB Tour or $199 BB Bold. Oh well.

GoogleTalk is a mobile version of the Google Chat function that's bundled in with Gmail. You don't (or shouldn't) need an invite on an Android based phone, the app should just be on your phone.

You might like the Nexus One a little more. They put a real processor in it :yesnod

I mean with active use. With standby, you can get 13-15 hours. Constantly poking around, say while waiting for a flight, drains power quickly.

My Blackberry, for example, will do 8- hours of solid use, browsing with Opera Mini while listening to music on the train. The OS has a tiny footprint and the screen is small. I can watch movies on a long cross-country flight and still have more than half my juice left. I don't even bother using a car charger because it has sufficient power to reach my next destination. All of the design elements of RIM devices (except Storm) have corporate email and 24-hour availability in mind rather than multimedia and entertainment, so its slower than a Prius when it comes to loading graphically intensive web sites or playing any games.

Next year when I renew my contract again, I want a phone that does entertainment the way iPhone and Android do it, without sacrificing productivity and connectivity. WebOS comes closest to achieving that, but Palm has done a poor job of courting developers and HP says they want to take WebOS out of the smartphone market. :/

What version of firmware is in your hero, when I got mine it was v.1.5, I upgraded to 2.1 the speed picked up a little, it still was laggy with the keyboard, but the touch screen got some tweaks so it was easier to use. I updated to 2.2 while on the can at target yesterday and to be honest I'm not sure what has changed yet.

I installed 2.1 and it did improve. Android is getting better at an impressively fast pace. I'll give it another shot next year when they polish it up.

Watching high-res Youtube on the phone was kind of neat. Rolled over in bed not feeling like getting up, grabbed the Hero, fired up Youtube, and watched some music videos. But, my netbook is on the nightstand too.

RIM is promising shiny new things for BBOS6, but they don't seem to deliver on promises since business customers with specific needs keep the gravy flowing. BBOS5 turned out to just be OS 4.x with some updates and an unnecessary new version number.

Not to bring an old thread back, (its 2 months anyway) But A coupla weeks ago I played with the evo 4g, and walked away thoroughly unimpressed. Today I played with the samsung galaxy S tmobile has, and nearly bought it. I figure I should come home and read up more on the phone before getting it. Anyone got any (non fanboy) thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy S?
