12am in NJ:

Rain is coming down pretty heavy, wind is picking up. Nothing I would consider "hurricane" weather.

I remember when Wilma passed through Florida, I was standing outside for a short period of time. Wouldn't do it again.

Yeah, this storm is nothin'. Jesda, looks like some pretty intense weather you have there... I remember when Floyd threatened my area a few years ago. Now that was a large storm.

I'm not in PA -- that's just a video I found on y'alltubes.

It looks like a normal thunderstorm to me.

I mean it's only slightly amusing. That vid looks like how it was from only the furthest rain bands. It's been pretty windy for hours but very little damage. I think my backyard chair blew over again lol.

Irene left us with a minor branch fallen off our giant maple tree plus some leaves, but otherwise, mostly rain, not a big deal. The local creeks and streams overflowed like any other big storm. The local TV coverage got downright nauseating once they went 24/7. August has been an unusually wet month here so the ground was already saturated. The ABC affiliate spent an entire stupid segment demonstrating what happens when you add rain to saturated ground.....OMG WTF, its.... its..... a mud puddle!!!! Aaaaaaah! run for the hills!!!!

Non-event. I was watching UFCs at a friends house last night and it was worse then than it is now. The eye is parallel to me on the coast and because of said difference in intensity the storm has clearly weakened. Hennessey caused me more trouble this weekend. Dont drink Hennessey when you have been at it for a few hours.

Wasn't too bad. The trees at the park across the street started moving pretty good at one point. I even thought about moving my car, but I didn't. I woke up to a horrendous sight. Leaves everywhere! LEAVES! OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

I went driving last night actually (before it got the worst). Rain was no biggie, the wind was interesting for some time.

I still have power. Eating awesome breakfast with the TV on and the AC blasting. A couple of friends/family already invited themselves over it seems :rotfl

It's a little breezy here, and the "eye" is almost parallel with us. I think I'm more concerned with my house in Vermont at this point. I'm going to get some halo in before we lose power.

Today I have to clean up a crap load of tree branches and sticks in the yard. A large tree fell across the road nearby last night. Other than trees down and power outages, no real issues with this storm, seems to be the news report.

Power is still out! :( This is the price we pay for living around such beautiful big oak and poplar trees, I guess?

Anyway, we just hooked up the generator, so I'm back on a hard line on the server in my basement.

I think a lot of hype is to blame. It had the potential to be serious but it wasn't. I haven't even see one tree down and I surprisingly had power through the whole thing.

The hype wasn't meant for us, it was meant for the NE coasters.

Got a little more excitement this afternoon. Wind ripped a piece of siding from a house, launched it into a power line. Sat there arcing for about 20 minutes and then the line dropped onto a car below. It was trying to ground out through the tires and they started smoking, it was pretty intense. Took my power out for an hour or so.

Pic of the Rockaway River swallowing the road around the corner from me, luckily I have another way out. Hard to tell from the pic but it spans about 200 yards.

Finally! Someone posted pics!

I remember the week of heavy rain in eastern PA during the fall of 2010 being a bit worse for flooding, no? It covered a smaller region however, but it was quite dangerous to drive through. I remember driving to Scranton in the Volvo -- each time I reached the bottom of a hill the car would belly flop hard on the massive pool of water. That car was built like a rock.

This is the worst flooding I've ever seen in my 28 years in this area. I have friends across town that have water up to their windows. It's all around crested rivers, which there are many of in this part of NJ.

I will try and get some more pics later tonight. Got booted from where I took the other one by the fuzz.

I can't speak for the rest of DE as I'm near the PA border where it's further inland, no creeks close by, and the elevation is higher (450 ft above sea level suckers!). No flooding and thankfully the power didn't go out so the sump pump could do it's job. Landlord told me since we have well water if the power went out we'd have to make use of the bathtub full of water to flush the toilets. Glad that didn't happen.

It's actually sunny and gorgeous out right now.

A friend of a friend took this photo today on the outskirts of the city of Wilmington, Brandywine creek surged quite a bit. There used to be a parking lot in the foreground!
Check out the insane rapids!!:

All jokes aside, I'm grateful this turned out to be just a tropical storm. This should be a wake up call to people to keep water and canned goods in their house all the time instead of rushing to the stores in a panic.

My hometown in Vermont is flooded. Most of the roads around where I grew up have been washed away. My old road made it on the local news. 3-4 feet of water showed up in downtown Rutland in minutes.
