Nice!

I'm gonna get my downpipe and the rest of the exhaust a bit modified so it sits higher.
It scrapes some speedbumps even at my current height. :\

So my ISIS exhaust came in...best sounding exhaust I have ever heard on an N/A KA, period. Can't wait to boost it, it's gonna sound awesome.

I also pulled off my oil pan while the motor was in the car, with no issues whatsoever. You just have to take off the two motor mount bolts from the bottom, the two transmission mount bolts, and take off the sway bar, then jack the motor WAY up, all the way until the bellhousing hits the firewall. You will be able to slide the pan directly out, without hitting anything.

I had to pull it off cause it was leaking.

Here it is, off the car:

This is how much you have to jack the motor up...

This was STUCK in my oil strainer!!!

A look up inside...

And that's pretty much it. I haven't put new oil in yet cause I'm letting it cure. But tomorrow i'll be putting oil in. Hopefully it doesn't leak! :)

Put new oil in today, 15W-50 Mobil 1. Doesn't seem to leak yet. However I do have a power steering leak...I may just remove the power steering all together.

Here are some pics of my car with the new exhaust, I think it looks sweet:

And my friends car, that makes mine look like s***...His motor blew so I'm building him a forged SR20 :dblthumb:

There's a lot of people that use 15W50 on KA's. It's getting hot outside so thicker oil is needed anyway. It also raises oil pressure, quiets the noisy valvetrain of the KA, and is best for higher horsepower cars.. Seeing as i'll be having more than 300 hp soon, I'm going to need that oil.
I love it !!!!! before I had 10w30 and when the engine was warmed up and about 900degree's EGT temp my oil press would be 5psi at idle, Now its at 20-25psi!!!!!

I built the motor with clevite bearings, on the limits of stock clearence and running 16psi of boost at the moment. the oil really helps out.
hard summer driving needs a 20w-50/15w-50 in Cali.

So I've had like no time lately cause I'm building an SR for a friend, school, work etc.
Khiem @ EFI Specialist shipped out my tune and it should be here tomorrow.

The only things I still have to do for boost are:

-Make custom hotpipe
-Make intake

So in the little time I've had, I coated my turbo manifold in ceramic coating, and wrapped it, but not all of it. I did this so some heat can still escape..I've heard stainless steel doesn't like being trapped with heat.

I also finished up my downpipe. Welded the 02 bung to it, wrapped it as well. I ran out of wrap so I only wrapped the engine pay portion, and the floor board portion so it doesnt burn my feet if I decide to drive barefoot....LOL

Finished downpipe (will add a flex section soon enough)

Feeding oil into a Holset is a bit different than other turbos. So I'm just going about it my own way.

1. Marked two holes in the oil inlet flange so I can fit a -4 AN adapter flange on there

Image

2. Drilled the two holes

Image

3. Now I just gotta tap the holes. But here's what I'll be doing

Got my tune...Razi, or someone, can you chime in and let me know if this is tuned?

He didn't put a sticker on it or anything saying it's tuned so I'm curious.

I bought everything else I need to boost my KA. I don't know when I'll be able to install it though. I've been really busy with my friends SR20 that is giving him problems (go figure...), and haven't had time to make my hotpipe or anything. :frown:

I also need to remove my intake manifold and re-route my PCV. Since my car is N/A, my current setup is:

PCV -> Catch Can -> Intake Manifold

That will not work for boost. So I will be modifying it to:

PCV -> Check Valve -> Intake Manifold

This will make it so while out of boost the PCV functions as normal, and while in boost the check valve is closed, not allowing boost to go back into my crankcase. I also decided to eliminate the catch can, because i do not see it as a necessity, and it takes up room in the bay.'

Obviously since the PCV will be closed during boost I will still need a way to evacuate, so I will do this by routing my valve cover breather to my pre-turbo intake, or just vent the vc breather to atmosphere.

While I was looking at the SR20 manual and the 240sx manual, I saw that the PCVs check valves work the same way, so you can probably leave the PCV system alone, and just put a hose from the valve cover to the intake pipe with a catch can in-between.

How do you have yours Razi?

I only mentioned that check valve thing cause I've been researching a lot about PCV and I found that.

I just put a catch can between the valve cover and the intake.

Even after hitting full boost then and a again, I haven't had any blowby so I'm guessing the PCV valve is closing properly.

Here's an SR PCV drawing.

The valve illustration on the right is exactly the same as it is on the KA manual.

I wish haha. I'm still waiting for a few parts to arrive such as my oil pressure gauge, a few couplers, etc.

Today I had to remove my intake manifold because I want to run that check valve in my PCV line to make sure no boost gets past it. This was actually really easy because I removed all my emissions...

I also finished up my cold pipe. I had to weld a flange on it for my BOV. I talked to EFISpecialist and he told me that he tuned my ECU to work with an atmospheric bov, so I immediately placed it on the cold pipe haha.

Here's my motor with the intake manifold removed. Lame engine paint is chipping off :(

Image

Look how clean my ports still are :)

Image

Intake manifold...gotta replace some hoses on there. It doesn't leak or anything but some hoses are too big and just clamped down really tight. I wanna get the right size hoses before I boost.

Image

Taped up and waiting till tomorrow.

Image

And here's the cold pipe. I had some extra wrap left over so I just used it on here.
