i was wonddering how a exhaust review came to be 5 pages long... i originally wanted all apexi merchandise, i alreayd got the PFC, and AVCR, but now i realise some things the manufactoer (spelled wrong) dosent make a differance, i think that applies to exhaust, CAI, or simple stuff, i personally thinks the duals look nice and for the price i woulda bought it also, i mean 150 shipped is unreal

Here is my review. The exhaust fits PERFECT. It took me 30 mins to install, and I was going slow. I have to say, the exhaust is just bearly louder than my stock exhaust! I thought it was going to be at least kind of loud, but that's not the case. At 75 mph with my windows up I can BEARLY hear it. At 75 mph with my stock exhaust, it was louder than this. But, I have had people tell me before (while on stock exhaust) that they thought I had an aftermarket one. At low speeds, it sounds great! Almost like a WRX. The only thing I don't like is I thought it would be louder lol, but I guess that's a good thing that's so quiet.

Here is the video link ( CLICK DIRECT LINK IT'S MUCH FASTER)

the SSAC System sounds great a few local guys have it on their cars... Plenty of them on ebay for the S14 but like NONE for the S13

We should whine about it until they sell it at that price.

Sounds good man but I wouldn't call it quite. It's much louder than stock. When my 240 was new ( I've had it since it had 20k) I couldn't even hear the car idle from inside. Can't say that now. My speaker setup on my pc puts out a tonn of bass so it may be making the vid sound loder than it is. Looking forward to ordering it. I'll be sure to post up my thoughts on it. THanks for putting the video up!

From the outside, it sounds louder. But inside the car, it's pretty quiet. At idle I can hardly hear it.

How about the power gains? You feel any difference in acceleration?

i was going to get the s13 apexi n1 dual cat copy from ssautochrome too but they emailed me and said they were out of stock for it. what rubbish. so i went and did research on who i could get the real apexi n1 dual catback exhaust from. i looked around for couple of hours and found a sell.. http://www.turboimport.com has a special going on right now. $15.00 for ANY catback exhaust in their catalog. i purchased my apexi n1 dual catback exhaust from them for $504 shipped and im pleased with the results drove it for three days and loved it. too bad my fckin KA24E died oh well. gives me something to save up for like a sr20det anyways here's pics of the apexi n1 dual catback exhaust. good results especially if you get rid of your cat. convertor and put a 3" test pipe

oh yeah on my second day using it. i was cruising at 80mph and this civic pulls up next to me and wanted to race. i down shifted to 4th and went from 4k rpms to 5800rpms and my **** backfired with a loud pop and i saw a decent sized flame come out of the tips . the civic backed off rofl. i tried doing it again but no flame oh well

I saw the duals a while back, thought about it, and decided against it. Thats a lot of steel on the apexi and the SSAC version. I figure any gains on it will be nulled from the extra weight.

what is the weight on those things anyway?

I went with the SS OBX turboback exhaust. And I have not looked back. Great exhaust, welds still look great, and it sounds evil.

One of my friends has an RX7 TurboII with SS/CF exhaust. Now thats ****ing hot. *drools*

I just emailed ssautochrome and they said the dual N1 will not fit a KA24DE S14 without MAJOR MODIFICATIONS. Can anyone substantiate this? I was just about to order the exhaust for my '96. Anyone have any thoughts about the HKS hiper 2.5 inch (the piping is NOT stainless)...

heyy guys!! i vouch for this exhuast 100%. It got to my door in less than a week. Whole install took 45 mins with no problems. Sounds awesome.. deep and mean as hell. A lot quieter than the Apexi thats on my friends s14. Also it looks killler. Low end was lost but not by much but thats with all exhausts. Midrange to redline is awesome. It weighs a tad bit more than the stock but that doesnt concern me as Im not looking to run 12's with this car. Best part I paid $150 shipped... thats less than just the piping kit I was going to order. Btw all you guys sayin "you get what you paid for!!" should be quiet because we all got one hell of a deal. Hopefully XS Power develops a header for the KA because I will def buy from them again!

i have the A'PEXi N1 Dual Catback Exhaust and also a Espelir JGT500. The A'PEXi N1 Dual Catback Exhaust has two 2.25" pipes so that equals 5 inches. The Espelir JGT500 i have has 3" piping and has a 4.5" tip. im getting a sr20det installed in my '90 240sx hatch by the end of next month.. which would give me more performance gains?

I'd keep that Espelir. If anything it should weigh less than the duals.

I just ordered mine too off ebay and should be here in time for the weekend. I'll post a video and pictures on Sunday. I really wanted the BRM, but I wanted to purchase a few other things I needed to complete my KA-T. So I settled with this one for the price and to eliminate some of the back pressure of the stock exhaust.

To the original poster, good review.

I'm considering getting one of these for my s14 my only question is how is the ground clearance. ive heard that the apex-i n1 duals have horrible ground clearance at stock height. so I was curious if maybe the ssac has better clearance? maybe some one could take some pics of the ground clearance.

I just finished my turbo installation along with the SSAutochrome exhaust yesterday. Car is running and absolutely no leaks at all. I can't believe how much being patient has finally paid off. I will post some pics of the exhaust system installed, along with clearance pics. I will post pics of my turbo setup too.

Once again great review and I can vouch for all that's been said about the SSAC exhaust system. Absolutely no problem bolting it up and sounds effin awesome. My exhaust doesn't vibrate at all against anything. I was able to get all the rubber stops up. I had heard that there might had been fitment issues with it, but non whatsoever. Any questions about this exhaust feel free to ask, I'm no expert, but will answer any questions about it.
