Hi SpeedRacer1,

Thanks for the heads up. No wonder I couldnt' find one. Do you happen to have the front and rear main seal #'s for the S14 SR engine as well? page 1 of this thread lists some numbers but they were either jobber or not clear if they were S13 specific or useable for S14 as well. Thanks-Rik

the reason im asking this is because i wanted change my o2 sensor, but i wanna make sure i buy the right one.. i have an s13 blacktop sr20det;

does the type of oxygen sensor (skinny or fat) on a engine depend on the wiring harness/ecu? or does it depend on the engine?

okay, like for example i should have a s13 blacktop engine, (or at least thats what i ordered and paid for) also the reason it is a s13 blacktop are/is; (or so someone has told me)

#1) it has the cooling fins on the front of head. #2) came with a black valve cover. #3) the engine block serial number ends with a "W" in it..i was told the engine blocks serial number (located on the back of engine, exhaust manifold side) can tell a difference too; if it has a 'V' it means redtop. a 'W' for blacktop.

also i know this has been asked thousands of times, but are there any other ways besides whats above to differentiate a s13 redtop to s13 blacktop?

but anyway, my engine happends to have a skinny o2 sensor... maybe i have a redtop ecu/harness? or any thoughts about this?

so i guess i must have a 62 or 63 ecu. is '62 or 63' gonna be printed on that sticker with the number on the lower right corner on the ecu case? or how would someone figure out the differences?

also, i would i be able to just swap out my ecu for a 'E5, E6, or J4' one if i could find one? and if i switch my ecu, i wouldn't have to swap the wiring harness would i? finnally, what would happend if i use a fat o2 with my redtop ecu? like if i just cut and splice the fat o2 onto it now? would that cause problems you know about?

So is there anything that i might have to do the crankshaft at all or is it all plug and play? By the way this will be going into a s13 black top.

again, so if i get a blacktop ecu would the wiring harness need changing also? or just plug in the ecu and plug in the fat 02?

s13 blacktop and red top wiring harness should be exactly the same.

They are not the same if you get the harness from an A/T.

But did ya'll know you can use an oil filter from an 2002 Nissan Frontier V6 (Mobil 1 filter # M110). Its about an inch taller than the stock filter. And a couple cc's more capacity. I'm sure there is another filter thats even bigger and would work but I just aint got that kind of time.

I use Z32 filters. The '02 Frontier has a VG33, IIRC, so the filter should be the same between the VG30 and VG33

The larger filter is definitely a bit nicer than the smaller ones. Plus it's easier to grab in that horrible horrible spot they place the filter at on our motors.

I think this should be added to the list for the S14.

S14 SR20DET Filter is the same as an '03 VQ35DE RWD. Z33 Oil Filter.

Taken from Speed's list again:Spark Plug Cover Jan 1991 - Dec 1998 13287-50F01Spark Plug Cover Bolt Jan 1991-Dec 1998 01131-40F01

Those are S13 parts, btw.

Ordering the bolts should be easy from any dealer as I'm sure some vehicle used that bolt in the states. If not, it's an M6 bolt with a hex head. I took it down to a local fastener store and they had perfect replacement bolts

The spark plug cover is a JDM part, so you'll need to call up someone who can order off the Japanese catalogue. I would try West Covina first. If they can get it, it'll take them a while to order it from Japan.

I need all new copper washers for my t25 oil and coolant lines, I believe there's 6. Is this the right part number for those: 15189-40P00, and if not, what size should the washers be?

Also need 4 new spacers, that raise the fuel rail out of the intake manifold. They're 4 black plastic really thick washers basically. Is this the right part number for those: 17522-10V00? Thanks.

Not sure about the rail spacer. I know the last time I tried to order those, by parts department ordered the wave washers on accident.

For the banjo bolt copper washers, the oil and coolant bolts are different sizes, so all 6 won't be identical. I usually just take the bolts over to an auto parts store and buy copper washers to match.

I need the part number for the coilpack bolts for a redtop. The bolt that holds the coilpack to the valvecover. I was told by someone that it is a "Japan only" part, havent heard that one before.

No it's not, just your typical 10mm head bolt....same exact thread as every other 10mm bolt that's on this car. Not sure on the thread and pitch, just pull one out and take it to the hardware store to match it up. Your talking about the one that grounds each coilpack to the valve cover, right?

Last time I talked to Nissan, they couldn't get those bolts. I had to buy them from a local auto fasteners store. They're very long M6 bolts, which are hard to come by. If you want, measure the hole and account for at least 1/4 inch of thread engagement and find them at a local hardware/automotive store.

But first, try calling up Midway Nissan and talk to Mike Jones. If you explain exactly what you need, he can tell you if they're still available or not.
