so i got the sr completely built, but I can not find my freaking camera. The only issue is my top oil pan is weepin out of the exhaust side on the rear. Tomorrow i will have to remove the oil pan and add a better amount of nissan sealant. All in all it came out real nice, I had to order some next day rings (arias) due to inexperience and a o-ring for the oil pump that I lost. My brakes came in yesterday, but I have to weld the corners behind the tires (inner fender) before I get to them, plus my passenger side balljoint was found to be bad when I was installing my inner and outter TEIN tie rods. Today is also my one year wedding anniversary and tomorrow is my wifes b-day so it is a very big week hopefully I will find my camera, take some pics and maybe even drive this thing SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP I had an issue when i first installed my rocker shims and guides...everything was labeled and put in the correct valve except shims guides were installed on the right instead of the left, durring hand rotation i heard cracking, 4 guides broke and I had to replace them, today I cranked the engine over to push oil through the block and I hear cracking durring every complete rotation this car has not been fired yet. AM I facked or should I replace the other 4 guides and pray for the best? right now I am looking at a 15K$ p.o.s curseing the day I undertook this project. I don't have the tools to do a proper valve job, and nissan only makes one size guide, should I just have it towed to nissan and have them reshim the head?

just out of curiosity did that front bumper have the screws where it mounts to the fenders or you had to mount it with a different method?

I actually mounted the fenders and bumper off of the car. it is a raceon bumper and the fitment was great. You will need to drill your own holes though. As far as the fender well area it is attached with supplied sheet metal screws

I can get some tomorrow. Are you looking for mounting suggestions or just different angles? The kit will come with brackets and hard ware, although from bomper to fender I up graded to some very beefy hardware 2 on each side with washers and nyloc nuts to prevent backing off. Although fitment was good, there was a hour or so of cosmetic prep needed ( cracks in the finish, chips) I gave them a 3.5 out of 5 for initial appearance 5 for customer service and there shipping was very fast.

I totally hear you on the budget, I wanted a silvia K's aero but it was out of my budget. Are you going usdm or jdm front?

the two top holes on you oem fenders will line up with the bumper. It should be pretty obvious where they should meet. Mark and drill with the largest bit you can fit through the oem fenders upper holes get some good hard ware. I found it easiest to install my fender and front as one piece off of the car and then use a buddy to install it as a unit. you will get best fitment results that way.

How much did he machine shop charge you to check clean and put the short block together ?And thanks to the forums when i get my sr20 notch top in im already planing on rebuilding the bottom end to make it bullet proof .It sucks all the work you done to have to rebuild it any way . my friend is going through this right now but its a 2jzgtte sc300 build had the motor in for a week and spun a rod bearing .That's why ive decided to rebuild mine before it goes in .. Great build though ive been watching this for a while now ...

To machine the block and clean it was $200, balanceing all rotating parts was $150.... I assembled it myself....I actually got to drive it this weekend, for some reason or another the turbo started to glow bright red after 2 miles of normal driving overheated my manifold and caught my oil catch can tubeing on fire. That wasn't to bad except for the guy behind me who through sand all over my engine and into my crankcase. I had it towed to my house pulled the engine cleaned everything and reassembled it. Hopefully I get better results this weekend

It runs beautifully! No sand got in the engine, and I got all of the bugs worked out of it.. I put 60 miles on it before i got into boost at all, and now i am boosting at about 6-7 psi shifting early. This engine feels like it pulls harder then when I first had it running @ 12psi. I am very impressed with this engines performance so far.

new update I just purchased and instaaled a shaftmasters one piece drive shaft. Let me start off by saying that the welds and craftsmanship were top notch! The performance gains are night and day. The stock driveshaft causes parasitic loss due to the factory design... if I power shifted into second gear it would chirp and go and it was sweet...tonight I was at a light and decided to get on it a bit. I rolled on the throttle in first untill about 6k on stock boost 7psi shifted into 2nd gear hammered down and wound up throwing the rear completely sideways not expected since the ground was dry and my tires warm and i was going straight. Needless to say it was freaking fun (not safe) but the power transfer with this shaft is alot quicker, plus the shaft weighs as much as the first 2 feet of your stock shaft which is a considerable weight reduction......All in all if for at any reason you are waiting to replace your stock driveshaft, DON'T! This is one of the best upgrades I have purchased other then a boost controller.
