Wow, a somewhat local member...I'm kinda shocked :o

Me and my mom are going up to take the tails out today (I'm also stealing the 1/4-window switch). Either I'll take them out myself or I'll coach her through it, I'll see when we get there. After that the car is probably going to end up at DeNaples junkyard. It's not looking like I can get my insurance to give me back the car to strip, so I'll just have to try and buy the parts from the junkyard and hope they don't charge up the *** =/

Just a bit of update...

Finally went to see my poor car today. Engine bay is absolutely wrecked but the interior held up like a champ. They sure as hell don't build em like this anymore. Anywho, I went to pull the new tail lights out of it and replace them with the stock tails, as was agreed upon by with the owner's son. Everything was going fine til the owner showed up and started whining about his tow and storage money. Couldn't care less how I was doing or that I had survived the wreck, just wants his money and wants the car out of there ASAP. d!ck.

SO. For anyone looking for parts, here is what is still salvageable:Convertible top motorTrunk strutsTrunk with factory spoiler (minor paint wear on top)Rear speaker covers (the plastic piece surrounding them seems to be in good shape but I am not certain)Passenger side door cover parts (everything is good except for the actual black door panel, which got cracked)Rear and passenger side factory wheels and tiresRear and passenger side mud guardsRear 1/4 windowsRear 1/4 window switch w/ buttons ("Up" is worn off but "Down" is good)Factory tail lightsRear thingy beneath tail lights with "Nissan 240SX SE" on itPretty much everything in the trunk, like poprivets, plastic pieces, whatever elseCoolant overflow tank

That's about all I can remember off the top of my head. Everything else is pretty well trashed. Keep in mind it's probably going to be weeks til I can actually remove any parts, but this is a heads-up while I still remember what's good.

No, it doesn't The SE basically just means it's a vert, it doesn't have performance stuff life that.

Clips? You mean the staples? 45 in the leg, and thankfully no other staples, stitches or sutures anywhere else. Getting them out was really uncomfortable, but wasn't at all painful.

Very graphic example of why no one should buy GM's car till they figure out how to build them correctly! look at the difference in the cars I am surprised the other drive didn't died his car looks liked a crush coke can.

Oh sure, they're yours as soon as I start stripping. The coolant overflow should be in good condition, but I won't know for certain until I get it out.

All they ever gave me was percocet and I HATE them. All they really did was make me light headed and didn't do much for the pain. I eventually passed out when walking around from using them. Morphine was even worse....I could hit the little morphine dispenser button all day, I never noticed any difference.

And the staple removal was no where near bad or long enough to warrent pain killers :p

ugggh staple removal.... glad to hear your doing better.

Like everyone said the difference in the damage to the cars is insane. Especially considering your car was a vert!

btw i can't really tell from the pictures. But is the intake manifold any good, i've been looking for one to.... do stuff to....With the crumpledge in the engine bay if you don't wanna mess with pulling it out don't worry, i can find one elsewhere. just figured i'd ask.

My mom and our lawyer are working on things for me. Not really in my hands, but it might be a couple weeks. Sorry =(

I think nearly everything on the engine is pretty well trashed. Even though the driver's side was hit mainly, even the battery was crushed. It'll be awhile before I know what's still good on the engine. But even then, do you really want a part from an engine that's been involved in a head on collision? I'd be wary with a stressed part that doesn't look damaged.
