I have to ask a dumb question so please answer it quickly before you get aggrivated.
Slideways^Jordan wrote:Yes i know that. 12-14 psi is different from a t25 to a T3T4
this simple concept racks my brain. how is the same boost level different from a t2x housing then it is from a t3 housing?

well iirc its like on my T3/T4 turbo for instance or trying to compare 2 different turbos side by side the one with the bigger compressor and AR combo will push and or flow more air then a T25 turbo or the smaller turbo at the same lbs/PSI or boost. thus makeing more power then the smaller turbo.

I guess its kinda like velocity stack or somethin like that.

a turbo is like a fan. it is a turbin that is a pressurizing the air inside the intake pipes. it is blowing air into the motor. the bigger the fan it doesnt have to blow as hard to move as much air as a smaller turbo. a smaller turbo liek a t25 has to pressurize the pipes more to get the same amount of air into the motor as the bigger turbo with the bigger " turbine" or fan. i hope that helps.

big ger fan blows more air

smaller fan blows less. so it has to spin faster to move as muc hair as the big one. meaning more pressure

Elite wheels are great

so simple, same effort but more boost.

so the only disadvantage of t3's, is the cost of a topmount setup?

out of all the great bottom mount turbos, and the ease of generating more boost. shouldnt t3's (and all the other hybrids and t4's) be better hands down?

sorry to thread jack but yea t3 setups are nice and i was looking into the also but ive been looking into holsets, i mean hx35 flowing 63lbs/min....they are cheap as **** and i got a friend to convince me to go with one.

very cheap if you can weld or can get welding done cheap, as there's no bolt-in parts to make them work.

In the grand scheme of things, costs are probably nearly the same if you plan on running a regular t3/t4 (not a Garrett GT series) on a topmount.

T2 is the limit of the bottom mount manifold. Turbo size isn't always indicative of boost...wheel sizes, compressor efficiency etc etc come into play too...tons of things.
