well i'd like to thank everyone for watching lol i think in all, it took me around 4 days with a few complications. i went out today and fixed the radiator drain plug leak so thats all good now. i lost ALOT of coolant from that small leak.. but here is the car as its sitting now..i just need to fix the brakes (problem below) and its good to go. enjoy! i hope my car is approved as "nice" lol

^^DD Grand Am in the back

^^coolant leak fixed..i used a little kitty litter

^JDM tyte yo!

^14" Fan and Skyline Rad..it fits really good

as for the brakes, they are leaking and i have to rebuild my rear caliper..also, i can't seem to get the BMC reservoir to be flush with the BMC itself.. here are some pics...

the only thing i can conclude after this whole thing with my car, is that I REALLY HATE DEALING WITH BRAKES! they have caused me NOTHING but trouble lol i was leaking fluid from the master cylinder and had to purchase a new one of eGay for $22 shipped..hopefully it doesn't leak eh?

once it gets here i get to take it for a test drive. then its only a matter of 2 weeks before this beast is officially legal for the street and there is a new video of it ACTUALLY driving lol dont worry, it'll be a long one

the car is insured and road legal..HORRAY! it runs really rich. i had the fuel pressure set at 36psi under vaccum and not atmospheric, so i fixed that last night, now it hovers around 25psi under vacuum. im also replacing the O2 sensor and spark plugs again to give it a fresh start.

as Gabby said in my "BOV Question" thread, the stock KA-E intake coupler blew out last night lol i went to CarQuest and got a 3" coolant hose for liek $14 and i think it'll work good.

the exhaust STILL is NOT one..im scheduled for next Wednesday at 1:30 to get it bend and fitted the rest of the way. i think it'll sound bada$$

as for driveability, this thing is AMAZING! not only does it rider smoother than my 95 Grand Am that has a funked transmission, its way faster lol chirping tires in 2nd gear, and i think i hit full boost around 3800rpms or so. im trying ot get a video up, but my friends were in flint this weekend so that kind of fell apart. all i have to say is thanks everybody, for all the help i've ever asked for. for ~$3000, i couldn't have asked for a better car!

well my thread kind of died out, but thats ok, im just here updating some things that are going on.

- rear brakes were pissing me off, so i sucked it up and bought remans w/ a lifetime warranty so i feel MUCH better now, except the passenger side ebrake doesn't engage.

- the CXRacing catback was installed yesterday and it sounds beautiful! nice and quiet and fits great. the guy at the muffler shop said its a "tight fit" but i think i can handle it later on if i have to remove something

- im running rich. i reused the old manifold gaskets as i didn't have a new one, and they blew out, so i think this is why im running rich..ordered new gaskets from local store and will replace those next weekend, so hopefully the exhaust isn't THAT tight of a fit eh? lol

All i have to say about the CA18 is that its one beast of a motor. i've never riden in anything like it before. it even spools fairly quick with the equal length manifold and the exhaust leak. 100mph is no problem to get to in this puppy. my friend with an RB25 and build KADE was amazed at the performance of this little engine at 9lbs of boost..i love it and if i blow it, i will rebuild..no choice

-Hockey Puck Motor Mounts-SSAC Motoria Front and Rear Strut Bars-KADE Clutch-Circuit Sport Mini Oil Catch-SR T25?? -some sort of BOV

Top Fuel Catch Can ($17 from friend). went and got some steel wool for the oil to collect on inside the can. so far so good. here are some more pics of my "driveway photoshoot".

Time to bring this back, like I will do every winter if funds allow.

This winter, a turbo upgrade is in effect! The stock T25 blew out on me a month or so ago and the car has now been sitting in my driveway with no turbo, intercooler, or wiring harness. Here are a list of things that I plan on adding to the car over the winter. I think I'm going to break the $1,000 mark haha.

S14/S15 GT28R Turbo (Garrett GT2560r) - $300
Wiring Specialties Wiring Harness - FREE
Innovate Wideband - $200
Greddy S13 SR intake for T28 turbo - S280
HKS SSQV3 w/ hardware - $250
Circuit Sport BMC Heat Shield - $23
Circuit Sport Oil Catch Can - $60
Circuit Sport Oil Drain Plug - $10
DIF SS Turbo Lines - $160
SS Oil Drain - ~ $36 <--- Still debating on this.
DME Cooling Panel - $90
Other misc items - $40

Total is about $1400.

I don't know if i want to do the SS oil drain. I have extra SS line from my oil cooler last winter and would like to use it for something. The flange with the -10AN threads (
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-697070/) fits Garrett T28's, and I'd just need to spend another $20 on fittings. It would complete the package thats for sure..Opinions??

I'm ditching my DIY Cooling panel for a good one, along with the cheap Godspeed Oil Catch can for the Circuit sport one. I figure I can get a few of these things from my Fiance or mother for X-Mas anyway :chuckle:

Right now, I'm working on getting a set of pliers to clock the turbo, then sourcing an oven so I can paint and bake my exhaust manifold with some VHT Ceramic Coating paint (spray can). Pics will be up soon. Theres not alot going into the car this winter, just alot of money haha. Nistune, injectors, and a MAF will come soon after. I'm thinking 450cc DSM injectors with a N60 MAF. I think those would work with this turbo being maxed out correct?

Yury from Wiring Specialties needed a donor harness. I sent mine in a few weeks ago and when he is completed with the new wiring harness for the CA, he's sending me one free of charge.

I hate to shamelessly plug, but if you want I have a used Garrett GT28R with oil and coolant hard lines (pre-bent!!) to fit the CA18 I am trying to sell. Works great, I just dont have a running engine right now and I feel it could be put to better use elsewhere. Has the proper inlet adapter flange and compressor outlet elbow. Just bolt it on and go. I also have some Evo III 510cc/min injectors I would be willing to part with. They would need to be cleaned, but they work great.

I don't mean to thread jack or plug my for sale stuff. If it is not cool to put this here then forget I mentioned it.

i already bought the turbo and the SS lines..but I may be interested in the injectors. How much you looking for shipped to 48708? I wouldn't be able to buy them for awhile because of my extensive list I need, but I will need them later!

Ah, cool deal. Forget I said anything then. I'll PM you about the injectors so we keep this thread clean. Good luck on the build, keep us updated!

I agree the SS oil drain sounds rockin, and you should definitely do it.

Hmg, check the "engine drivetrain for sale" forum, I just bumped my "for sale" thread, or just PM me.

youll need a turbo clocking kit from either stance or circuit sports to use the t28 without having to modify your intercooler pipes and keep your factoy inlet and outlet locations

with the Greddy intake kit, it comes with all necessary elbows that will allow me to retain the intercooler pipes I was running.

I've had this for awhile but I figure I'll include it in the thread haha. I'm actually going to be storing the car for the winter within the next week or two, but I'll try and post pics every now and then to show that I am buying stuff and working on things and not just gaining wait :)

ska69, i figured you would haha

and Kyle, yea I plan on getting that Greddy Kit too. I dont want to have to buy the clocking adapters, S13 inlet and outlets, and then an intake when I upgrade to a MAF later on..just seems easier to do it this way, PLUS, nobody around where I live really has nice parts, so I'm going to change things up a bit

hell yeah, do it to it man. im waiting on my pauter rods and supertech pistons to come in. then once they do im taking my block to the machine shop. while its there imma start on the head and then assemble the block when it gets done, then have the head surfaced and set the head on it and reassemble everything else. ill prob wait till spring tho to put it in coz 37 broken bones in one lifetime doesnt mix with cold weather well.

well..nothing has gotten done on the car since my last post...I've been busy working, going to school, and doing the Christmas shopping so I'm pretty low on cash. I'm just waiting for my next Financial Aid check to start buying parts because about 97% of my checks now are going to the credit card bills lol. Hopefully some updates soon.

hey if u need a set of injectors i have a set of N/A FC RX7 440's. Low impedence top feeds, they drop right in. I was gonna use them in my other CA but its on hold for now as Im possibly buying a 71 240Z and an RB will then be necessary to maintain the straight 6 heritage lol. Thats kinda putting a hold on my other CA swap going into another shell just for a drift slut project
