oh definatly not, 41,000 on campuse students + another 40,000 connecting to the college network via branch campuses. (All university websites and mail services are hosted here at the main campuse)

Still really damn fast most of the time.

I think Sigs that stick around 400x300 are fine. any bigger just becomes a distraction, and a cry for help.

I think signature images should be limited to a small size. And if someone has a large one, to lets say for an example.. a picture/banner for a car show.. can LINK to the original image hosted on another server to see the full picture, could this not be very easily done? I think it would be a great thing for users to do as kind gesture.

Thanks for all the comments guys! And thinks Fred for bringing it up in the Mod forum, if you would like any help writing up some guidelines.. or anything, I'd be happy to help!

Umm... now I feel really retarded, how do you post in the photopost section?

Today is my second "sloe" day in a row... this is getting out of hand.

edit: Thanks lessthanjakejohn, I hope you guys like the smaller pic! It still serves as a link, so... :D

Yes ban the big sigs....advertise somewhere else....or pay NICO for your space.

Get a life, dont splat a huge pic of car on your sig.

Best SIG EVER! (probably a guideline as to what is too big for a daily SIG as well)

I think sigs that advertise with a picture, such as the one in my sig, are much better than a couple lines of text. Text does not catch your attention. Many people simply over look text.

I think a sig should be quick and to the point, like mines, and it's small

Yeah, I think guidelines should be limited to 1 picture to something like 480x100. Or two pictures to be the equal size as 1 picture, side by side. And text should be limited to an amount of lines.

wow ude, either A. get a new connection and run your monitor at higher resolution or B. GTFO.. easy. Don't complain, dial-up is old stuff now. Everything is gear for broadband, tuff luck.

Veangances signature, while cool...is one of the ones that needs to be smaller :) It's making me scroll! I refuse to increase my resolution either, it makes things entirely too hard to read.

Lately, I have just been putting sigs that contain useful information/help the other fellow NICO member. For now, I'm going to take down the driftshowoff sig until it starts getting around to that time. BTW, I'm on a 19" flat screen monitor with a cable connection and 1280x1024 resolution , so sig size have absolutely no effect whatsoever to me.

Vengeance, was that a comment directed torwards me? If so, you couldn't be anymore wrong. I am on a T1 line with a monitor running 1400x1280 resolution. So good try saying that I am whining. I was just trying to make an attempt and bettering the already amazing NICO community.

Whoa, you need to chill out. Your post probably meant no harm, but I'll go ahead and take it the wrong way and take time to explain what my previous post meant.

It is helpful because there is a number they can call to buy products from a "fellow NICO member", to help a "fellow NICO member" out. Someone they can trust. Also, Nismo_Freak has helped all of us out with the useful information he provides, I figure I should do what I can and help him get his name out a little more.:) There is no need to get your feathers all ruffled up over a signature that may be a little big, which in my opinion isn't big at all. Have a nice day;)

I just bought a 21" Nokia monitor, and I still haven't changed my resolution... I don't want to have to squint to read the text....

They are 500x150 IIRC ... but I have them set to a 60% quality so the actual file size is small.
