Robert said he was gonna go by there yesterday. I dunno if he made it or not, but I haven't seen anything new from SFR, other than this email:

That is the plan, to have the turbo mounted, plumberd and all the intercooler piping finished this week. The battery is already relocated. The AEM FIC is not going to work on your Coupe so we are goin to have to run the Split Second box that we normally run instead. It works just like the FIC and is easier to tune. JWT uses it for their twin turbo systems,Stillen used it for their supercharger system,Vortech uses it for their supercharger system and we use it for our turbo kits.It actually works very well. It is the same controller that has been on my car for over 40,000 miles.

Yea, I can only get updates as I get them buddy. I talk to him a couple times a week, but I try not to bother the progress as to get him to rush. He gave me the finalization date of the 27-4th. That's all I really have for updates. They should be really close to being done! Last I heard they delayed photos again till early this week. I will keep on top of them for more photos.

Na I didn't, I wish I had more to report on it, but Tim is keeping very distant with this project. I can't really do much about it. I try not to bite the hand that feeds me. They could own my transmission, for my insubordination, and just say "oops". Believe me no one wants this done faster than me. I have no car right now!

honestly tammer. is that what you thought? you're obviously just trying to start something when you've been here long enough to know that blake will post every post worthy detail of the progress as it comes to him. watch. dude's next post if you don't have major details will be, "i call bs."why do you even care anyway man, your 2.5s is screaming stock so loud i can here it over here in texas. obviously you don't have any idea what goes into designing and installing a turbo kit with a tune on a 1st time car (cvt a/c never been boosted before) that will function properly as you didn't understand why mine took so long.

Sorry for the threadjack if that's what this is.

Haha Warner we haven't always seen eye to eye but, this post is the truth. I can't keep pressuring the guy every day for updates. If I pressure him to finish, he might mess up, and the last thing i wanna see is my CVT belt lying in the middle of the 101

Just got off the phone with Tim, here is where we stand. The exhaust up to the turbo is done, the intercooler piping is done, batter relocation done, Synapse BOV done. Everything else is made to order. Turbonetics, Split Second, and Tail are all either building, or shipping the products they make. Turbonetics is building a very specific turbo for this application that is on the biggest end of the T3/T4 spectrum, but has the capability to push out 350-500hp, directly in the range we need to be. This T3/T4 Hybrid turbocharger consists of a T3 turbine section, Stage V Trim, and a T4 compressor section, 60-Series. This combination offers the low inertia and fast boost response of the lightweight T3 turbine wheel and the high airflow characteristics of the T4 compressor family. So Turbonetics is building it, by hand, right now. The Split Second piggy back computer is also being specifically built to control this computer on the altima coupe. As well as the Tail wastegate, that is also built by hand. None of these companies just have these parts sitting around in boxes, so we have to wait for the parts to get built, but when it all comes together, its going to be a thing of beauty. A complete turbo system, built to run in perfect harmony! Tim will be sending me pictures soon, and I will post them up. Thanks for being patient guys. Tim has had some family emergencies, and he is the only one who can build this prototype. Every part has to be built perfectly, so that everyone else kit will come out perfectly as well. So this is also one of the reasons of the hold ups. It really shouldn't be to long now though guys!

i dont really care about the turbo kit itself, i just want to see the final product, i want to see how a boosted CVT performs, i'm never going to boost my car...i just like seeing these kind of projects. thats all

You're a gutsy man to be building a one off turbo kit but if you know the right people to do the job…… The best part is you're getting everything you want out of it and with every part custom, it'll fit like OEM. I've talked with a rep from turbonetics and they've showed their interest but didn't give me any yes or no answer to any development of a kit. I guess it's usually how things are when something is in the decision making part of the R&D. Hope the kit comes out money

Well, the kit isn't a one time kit. It's the prototype. This will be the production kit for the 3.5 CVT. Everything that is hand built to order on my car, will also be hand built to order for everyone elses. It am taking a risk with the CVT, but thats about it. Tim and the guys at speed force racing, were one of the first companies to create a turbo and twin turbo system for the 350z and G35, when they were released in America. Secondly, they have been building these kits for the Maximas and Altima's since they have been offered with the VQ35, so they have been around the block, several times, with this platform. As for Turbonetics, I think that since both of the Altima Coupe turbo kits will be using Turbonetics turbochargers, It wouldn't be in their best interest to fight that with thier own system.

Just a little confused on what you're exactly trying to say with that last part, I could be reading it wrong though....

I'm just a little hooked on t-netics because I've installed a few different kits from them and I love how well the kits fit and utilize factory mounting points. Not the biggest fan of the their track record with seals but that's not bashing their turbos. Yet to see any of their new GTK stuff.

Hope all goes well with the final touches.

The sad thing is that we've been at almost the exact same step for 3 weeks now. He needs to get the ball rolling, and fast. Still no piping in the engine bay yet, that is my main concern

don't trip dude. if they were installing the turbo later today the piping comes with it to hold the turbo in place. no piping = no turbo.
