It seems the dark knight has temporarily stalled all progress in the world. Everybody went to see it, but work should resume soon.

Haha, sorry guys. The turbo finally got finished and shipped to us Monday. We opened the box only to find it was the WRONG turbo! The built the turbine inside smaller than we wanted!! So we had to painstakingly ship it back to Turbonetics to get the turbine replaced.

They finished it yesterday and overnighted it to SFR last night. Tim and them got the turbo around 1, and immediately jumped on the car.

They installed it and did a run through of everything, making sure it was all pieced together correctly. Unfortunately, they got done to late to get it to the dyno today.

So here is where we stand. EVERYTHING is DONE. Except for the tuning. They will have that done first thing Monday morning, and I will pick the car Monday night! Tim will be sending me some pics of everything soon! Hang tight guys, its just days away!

Nice! Seems like a bit of a tight squeeze in the engine bay. And that's a good replacement for the center air vent. May it all work perfectly forever, lol.

Your boost gauge is in a crappy place.

Other than that, looks alright.

But you need at least 2 temperature gauges and another boost gauge yo! Stick 'em where everyone can see 'em and represent!

If a cop wants to be a jerk (and plenty cali Cops do), if he pulls you over for a ticket speeding, seat betlt, improper lane change, whatever, and he sees all those gauges running down your A-pillar, he has every right to just start writing extra tickets, opening your hood, writing a turbo ticket, etc.

not that this will necessarily happen, but it could.. I think the boost gauge is perfect! Very inconspicupus and it looks OEM!

no they can't! but it's like, why would you have gauges for no reason? it would make a cop want to look under the hood and see the non-CARB legal Turbo kit and give you a ticket...

Very good points! I wanted the boost gauge in a spot that was visible to passengers, yet concealed.

WHP is gonna be around 310. We are going to keep the boost down to 5 psi to start and see how the transmission holds up. We will bump it up to 7 psi when we feel its comfortable

ok, gotcha. That was one thing that sucked in Cali, the visual inspection. What sense does that make? In High School I worked as an air cooled VW mechanic and we could make a bug run cleaner but it wouldn't pass the visual inspection.

I just don't like it.

Great generalization and assumption.

All I said was I thought there were better places for the boost gauge. How you spun it, I have no idea.

In the steering wheel!

Honestly, I don't know because the times I have been in the Coupe I haven't really thought about it. But not in the middle of the vents and not on the A pillar.

On my Saab I have it down in the center console area near my E-brake.

Whats the point of a boost gauge if you cant monitor it? I need it at eye level to monitor boost spikes and make sure the wastegate doesn't fail. I dunno about you, but when Im racing, Im not looking down at my ebrake

I'm dangerous like that.

I couldn't find anywhere that I liked in the car but I may move it somewhere else down the line.

I had that same steering wheel mounted boost gauge in my old GTI, it's great. I believe DEFI makes a universal pod that can be mounted anywhere

or autometer has this CF one

Let's all glance down towards our e-brake while we are running laps on the track... Seriously, why didn't you just mount it in the trunk. At least then you won't have your eyes off the road-- as far as Blake's gauge is concerned, I think it's perfect for the AC. He even saves the functionality of dual climate control.
